Though it's doubtful he'll fall this far, Landescog. I like him, but I hate the Kitchener Rangers (his junior team) so that says a lot

I think they try and get the most dynamic forward they can. The defense looks like it is in good shape already, young and talented.

Got to smile when I see the Winnipeg Jets logo drafting seventh overall.

The realistic answer is baring a Fowler / Gormley freefall, Huberdeau, Landeskog, and Couturier will be gone.
I am fine with Strome as he is projected to have top line talent. I would love for Couturier to fall to us because I think he is getting a little short changed lately. The kid put up unreal numbers and fought off Mono this year. He's a 6'4 center with hands. What's not to like?

I'm glad to see Armia wasn't included in the choices... maybe in the second round?
I like Hubedreau, but I'm curious if any of the top 4 will fall to #7.

What's not to like? For a forward I prefer Strome. Couturier is a boring two-way centre despite his upside. No flash or "woo" moves. Strome on the other hand can make fans on the edge of their seats on a rush. Oh yeah, the reason why I picked Murphy is because he's probably the most flashy offensive defensemen on the draft.

They say Couturier has the potential to be another Jordan Staal with a bit more offensive potential. Now that's an excellent piece to add to the puzzle. If he gets by NJ at #4, he may fall to us.
Strome has been called a "poor man's Tyler Seguin". Would be good with him too. He'll likely be available unless the Sens grab him.
The guy i like is Landeskog, who has been compared to a combination of Johan Franzen and Brendan Morrow. Gritty, scorer with outstanding leadership qualities and a bit of skill much like Mike Richards. Will be a captain in the NHL one day and fills a top 6 winger position for the short and long-term.
But, I doubt very much he'll drop to #7, though if the first 3 teams go center (RNH, Huberdeau, Couturier) and the next 3 may go d (Murphy, Hamilton, Larsson) that would leave Landeskog for us.

I've looked at this site for many, many years. Just looking at the logo next to pick 7 - and it not being a hoax - is honestly, UNBELIEVEABLE.

I'd be concerned for any team that picks up Landeskog. Despite some of the impressive notes from scouting, some people think that he won't be able to pull it off in the NHL. I think what the new team needs is a guy who can entertain than be a dependable. The new Winnipeg roster has solid players but none that can be called scoring phenoms.

I think what the new team needs is a guy who can entertain than be a dependable. The new Winnipeg roster has solid players but none that can be called scoring phenoms. We'll see. I read something from the Oilers scouting guru, or so he likes to consider himself, Stu MacGregor about Landeskog. Doesn't think he'd be a top notch scorer, a la Iginla, because of questionable skating, but feels he can play either as a solid 2nd line contributor or 3rd line checker and pk'er. He will play and be a solid character NHL'er for many years. When you're building a team, that's a good piece. Couturier would be a good piece too. Or Dougie Hamilton. If we keep Burmistrov, then we have a skilled slightly built kid who might develop into a moderate scorer. He's able to lift you out of your seat, but you win with gritty never say die types. For every Patrick Kane, you need a Toews, Ladd and Big Buff. Oh wait, we have Ladd and Big Buff. Just need Toews. And apparently Kane. Would Evander Kane do?

If Strome is still on the Table Id pick him. He's a real skilled center that has a cannon of a shot.

It will be Strome or Couturier, saving any major draft shuffles
