For the opening game since clearly this will sell out in 5 seconds, it would be great if Chipman could rent the bomber stadium for one night and fill up that venue as well. It would only be the beginning of October and I really could see 50,000 filling up that venue as well like we did for AC DC. Put a big screen up with some heavy duty loud speakers? Concessions heck i think Chipman would turn a hefty profit out of it!

I was thinking of the same thing but a different venue. I was thinking of the baseball park as its closer to the MTS center and we can all party together after our team wins the game.

Honestly one of the best ideas for anything I've ever heard. Now make it so number one.

I would make the 5 hour drive to watch the game with 50,000 other people. I would come to the home opener but walk up tickets are gonna be kinda impossible to get for it.

It's great to be optimistic, but 50k people would not show up to watch a game on TV for the first home game. I'm as excited as the next person, but lets be realistic.

I am sure TNSE will set up a screen in the parking lot at Graham and Hargrave for opening game, as construction on the hotel/plaza will likely not have started by that time.
Now if they could use that lot (or plaza on the future) in winter, setting up tents a la festival du Voyageur for people to watch the game in when it is -30 outside, that would be awesome.

Why not use the Bomber stadium this fall for a free fan appreciation night to introduce to 30000 fans "Your Winnipeg Jets?"

Even if it was cheap. Because I doubt they could rent the stadium for free. They should ATLEAST cover the cost of renting. I would gladly go watch the game there since I wont be able to get a ticket for the game at the MTSC.

With the recent riots in Vancouver i do believe this is a safer alternative than piling into the streets.

With the recent riots in Vancouver i do believe this is a safer alternative than piling into the streets. Hogwash, we're no Vancouver. I'm still convinced the riot started cuz they ran out of pot or something! The Bomber stadium would be cool too but with the arena being downtown to me that would be perfect.
