So work is sending me to Las Vegas!!! WHOOP WHOOP.. I am really excited, and was wondering what exactly I should be keeping my eye open for. I really am not much of a gambler, but will do a bit of that. I will be beside the MGM grand (Hooters Casino/hotel), by the strip, and will be headed to stoney's rockin country bar one night, more then likely Thursday! OTher then that, is there something we should hit up? I would like to do the research before hand.... We will be there the first week of August.

Dont let anyone slip roofies in your drink or your best friend will dissapear and you'll search all over the city for him only to find he was on the roof the whole time. True story, saw it in a movie.

if you're not much of a gambler, but you wanna try your hand at some games, go to Slots 'o Fun. They have $0.50 roulette, $2 blackjack, and cheap slots. I like it because I like gambling, but I'm also cheap and poor

LOL (*to the hangover, I would love something crazy like that to happen)... and thanks for the advice on the gambling, I did hear if you gamble free drinking, so sweet!!! Has anyone stayed at the Hooters Casino Hotel..as I have read mix reviews, and for the price of $677 (including flight hotel taxes fees and shuttle for a week) I really didn`t want to loose that deal.

Haha, as a Vegas rookie during my first trip I'm sure there is a lot you learn from for next time, but the whole slow play and slots is something I made sure to nail early! Keeps it pretty easy on the wallet for the most part.
Drinks there are cheap; at certain places. It can be much different even at a place right next door however, depends where you are. The MGM Grand, Bellagio fountains, and the Eiffel Tower are kinda cool. If you just wanna hang out and drink, the bar in Bally's and O sheas for beer pong is a good time. I found the majority of the trip when you first get there is almost all walking and checking stuff out. You will do a lot of that- which cuts into party time haha.
Have fun!

Well the free drinks is a bit of a sham. Unless your tipping decent or playing the $10 tables or $1 machines you'll be lucky to get a seconds drink before you burn through a twenty at a penny machine. Don't but beer in the casino, got to the hotel convience store. Usually a couple bucks cheaper.

Oh yeah, your depth perception will be screwd up to. Just because you can see the stratosphere, doessn't mean you can walk to the stratosphere. Get a bus pass.

Spearmint Rhino! haha ... . but seriously, it's insane.
and no, there are no "free drinks", but even if you tip the waitress 1$, (maybe 2$) at a place like the flamingo, she will keep coming back.
PF changs, and The Cheesecake factory are pretty good for restaurants if your looking for something is affordable and not stuffy.
If you want to go see cirque du soleil, book it now. Some of the are pretty cool, but if you don't have good seats, they're kinda lameish.. like watching tv.
If it's your first time, spend 1 day and walk the strip. Hotel to Hotel the lobbies are pretty cool and you can drink on the streets on the way to each.
I go there up to 4 times a year, so I could go on forever. If you want to know something specific, ask.

I'll be heading back to Vegas in June for the third time in less than two years. That will satisfy my Vegas fix for decades to come. The trip I'm really looking forward to is Australia next Jan or Feb!

Thanks all, I was actually gonna ask, about the depth perception, lol. I would like to see Margaritaville, and was wondering if its worth shopping. I am not a fan of shopping but if there is lots of clothes for cheap, it maybe worth it. I am trying to round up a friend or two to come with me, make the trip more fun.
