If and when we get a team back, can the people of Winnipeg please stop cheering for the other "Canadian" teams, simply because they play home games in Canada? When I hear people tell me that they're rooting for the Habs/Canucks in the playoffs because they're "Canadian", they obviously have never watched these two teams play. If there were ever two hockey teams that resemble soccer teams, it would be these two. Besides the fact that they are stocked with more Europeans than most other clubs, they do more diving than any team other than maybe AC Milan or Real Madrid. Let's get our Jets back so we can go back to hating the Oilers, Flames, Canucks, Habs and Senators. The Leafs? I don't think anyone mistook Toronto for being Canadian in the first place.

You know I have always liked the Canucks, when the Jets left, I developed a love for em. I am a Canucks fan. When my Jets come back, the only time I will hate em, is when its a Jets vs Canucks game. Because our Jets left, I turned to the team I "liked". I have cousins that have always been a TO or Vancouver fan, that is basically just how it is, although they did love our team when we had it. There is nothing wrong with cheering on other Canadian teams, the fact of the matter is that (i ll use football as we dont have a team yet)... when the Bombers make it through the playoffs, and Sask or whatever didn't they cheer for us. The same principal is used here too. Why does it bother you that people wanna cheer on the Canadian team... the fact is, they are a Canadian team, they are BASED IN VANCOUVER, and lots of teams have a mixture of countries... who cares. As much as I hate TO, they are a Canadian team, even though we don't like em. Either way I hope Vancouver pushes through, ITS OUR TIME! GO NUCKS GO!!!!!!

Doesn't matter who's playing for the team, if they win the cup it comes to Canadian soil. That's what matters. Even when we have a team I'll root for Canadian teams, especially if Quebec gets a team.

You do realize the Jets were pioneers in bringing those Europeans into pro hockey in North America, right?
A Canadian team hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1993. From 1995 to 2003, none made it to the final at all. So it isn't surprising when Canada (or at least Western Canada anyhow) got on the bandwagon for the Flames in 04 and Oilers in 06.

Wait, what? You might want to use another example to make your point.
I like the Blackhawks, but once Winnipeg gets a team back I'm done with them. Winnipeg all the way, no one else, and I hope everyone else in the city follows suit.
I don't understand why people cheer for multiple teams, what's the fun in that?

I don't know how anyone who even has a vague recollection of the Jets could EVER cheer for the Oilers, let alone the Canucks. They're the enemy! But the Flames? Hell, we beat them in the playoffs twice! They're alright in my books!

I hate the Riders and Canucks. They are my most hated teams.
Bad, bad, bad analogy.

I don't even want Van to win this year......I want our team to be the first in years to bring the cup back to Canada.....That would stick it to all leafs, habs, sens, flames, oil and nucks fans as well as buttman.......plus I have all Bos and SJ in my pools....lol

Sorry, but my analogy is right to many many people. I really don't like the Riders at all, but I rather them advance before another team. When Jets are back, they will have my complete attention, but I will also be liking the Canucks still... its been over 15 years, I can't just drop em.

Speak for yourself. The Cup belongs in Canada and while I certainly rank the cities I'd like to see it go first, who cares where it is as long as its back!
