Does anyone know of a website/link regarding the proposed St. Louis Blues 1983 move to Saskatoon? (other than wikipedia)

I guess I was too young to remember that. I got no sound on my comp, but they sure look happy in the video!

An NHL team in Saskatchewan? That would've been something!

I find the parallels between the Phoenix situation and the situation faced by the Blues in 1983 to be interesting. Both owners attempted to sell the team to Canadians who wanted to relocate to Canada, and in both cases the league blocked it and basically took over the franchise and attempted to find an owner. It ended up working out in St. Louis. Phoenix? Time will tell.

Honestly, Saskatoon would probably be a better market than Phoenix/Atlanta/Florida.

Honestly, Saskatoon would probably be a better market than Phoenix/Atlanta/Florida. Yep. Would be a money loser with reliance on revenue sharing. But not nearly as bad as those locations. But if the NHL is going to lose money, it would rather lose money in large US markets with growth potential than a very small Canadian one that already follows the NHL.
