South Florida Business Journal Date: Monday, April 4, 2011, 1:50pm EDT The Florida Panthers have sold the naming rights to the rink at the BankAtlantic Center to automaker Lexus, the first deal of its kind in the National Hockey League, and only the second one in major league sports, Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal has reported. The only other deal in the majors in which a team has sold naming rights to its playing surface is in Minneapolis, where the Minnesota Vikings in October 2009 signed the Mall of America to a three-year deal, putting its name on the Metrodome field. Lexus has been a founding partner and sponsor of the Sunrise arena’s suite/club level since the facility opened in 1998. www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/news/2011/04/04/florida-panthers-naming-rights-lexus.html

Also, if you drive arouund Ft. Lauderdale, you will see the reason why !!!
