Somebody mentioned an all-Manitoba team so I am going to have fun with it. This is what it would look like (based on birthplace). - The goalies' combined record would be 30-39-7 for 67 points (which would put us ~13th in the West (assuming a team is gone that is higher-ranked, like the 'Yotes) 1 point ahead of Columbus, and 8 points ahead of Edmonton... which is all that matters, right?! ;D ) - 208 goals for (based on player stats) would put us 25th overall (tied with Montreal) - 224 goals against (based on goalie stats) would put us 16th overall (tied with Dallas and Minnesota) - our salaries would be $49,897,623 with these 23 players on the roster. GoaliesJames Reimer (20-8-4, 2.54 GAA, .922 Sv%) - $596,667 Nicolai Khabibulin (10-31-3, 3.33 GAA, .891 Sv%) - $3,750,000 (there is a lack of a 2nd Manitoba-born goalie, so I figured this would be popular ;D .... unless, ya know, we unretire Ed Belfour or something ) CentersJonathan Toews (76 GP/31-44=75 pts/22 pim) - $6,300,000 Travis Zajac (78 GP/13-30=43 pts/24 pim) - $3,887,500 Darren Helm (79 GP/12-20=32 pts/16 pim) - $912,500 Andrew Murray (29 GP/4-4=8 pts/4 pim) - $625,000 Dustin Boyd (5th center) (10 GP/1-0=1 pt/2 pim) - $650,000 WingersPatrick Sharp (71 GP/34-34=68 pts/36 pim) - $3,900,000 Alex Steen (69 GP/19-31=50 pts/26 pim) - $3,362,500 Dustin Penner (77 GP/23-22=45 pts/45 pim) - $4,250,000 Eric Fehr (49 GP/10-10=20 pts/16 pim) - $2,200,000 Matt Calvert (39 GP/11-8=19 pts/12 pim) - $891,667 Jordin Tootoo (51 GP/6-8=14pts/61 pim) - $1,250,000 Arron Asham (41 GP/5-5=10 pts/39 pim) - $700,000 Cody McLeod (67 GP/5-3=8 pts/ 184 pim) - $1,033,333 Jody Shelley (58 GP/2-2=4 pts/127 pim) - $1,100,000 DefensemenDuncan Keith (78 GP/6-36=42 pts/22 pim/ -2) - $5,538,462 Ian White (74 GP/ 2-22 = 24 pts/24 pim/ +1) - $2,999,995 Travis Hamonic (59 GP/ 3-20=23 pts/101 pim/ +6) - $875,000 Brett Skinner (in the KHL -> 34 GP 2-4= 6 pts/12 pim/ -6) - $500,000 Aaron Rome (53 GP/ 1-4=5 pts/49 pim/ 0) - $750,000 Cam Barker (52 GP/ 1-4=5 pts/34 pim/ -10) - $3,083,333 Justin Falk (7th defensemen) (21 GP/ 0-3= 3 pts/6 pim/ -3) - $741,667

I can't believe you actually put that together. Wow, you are hardcore. I actually love the look of this team, although it seems a little weak on defense. Regardless, it is very cool to see this Team Manitoba roster. Good job!

Haha agreed, very cool and nice work!
No need to put it together, but I'm thinking one thing is for sure... we would kick the A$$es of an all Arizona team!

Brent Krahn is down with the AHL Stars - so you could always grab him for the second keeper.

If you factor in that Reimer went 20-8-4 with the Leafs, I think you can safely say he would improve that record with these guys.

Here is some more info on the hockey hotbeds of Arizona and Georgia...
- There has been a total of ONE NHL player from Arizona. Apparently some guy named Jim Brown. A defenseman who played 3 games for the LA Kings in the early 80s, but according to hockeydb, his birthplace was Canton, NY so I guess there really has been.................. 0 players from Arizona.
- Mark Mowers is one of only two NHL players born in Georgia (he is currently in the Swiss National league). But, he moved to New York as a youngster and played hockey there... and graduated from U of New Hampshire. So he is not a product of the all-fantastic, NHL worthy Georgia state hockey system.
Eric Chouinard is the other one.... and he was only born there because his father Guy (from Quebec City) happened to be playing for the Atlanta Flames at the time. He is actually a Canadian citizen.
Minnesota has produced over 200 players. Hell, even teeny tiny Rhode Island managed to produce 16 NHL'ers.
The Northwest Territories and Yukon have a population of 90,000ish, only have a handful of rinks spread out on a territory the size of Western Europe.... surely they have not produced NHL'ers!?..... wrong. They have. NWT produced 4 NHL'ers (including Geoff Sanderson), and 2 more from the Yukon.
The fact that Arizona and Georgia combined can't match that is pathetic. It shows you what the state of hockey is down there.
Ontario and Quebec alone account for over 2 400 NHL hockey players.
Manitoba has produced 336 players in total.
......wake up, Bettman.

Soooooo... where are all the players, oh wait we have to give it time

although it seems a little weak on defense. I smell a trade w/ the Minnesotans (needs = forward + goaltending). I applaud the OP's effort. I actually did this a couple of months ago for the states (ran out of gas on the provinces). Too lazy to pull salary and stats: MN parise-stepan-backes j. blake-cullen-wheeler okposo-hendricks-langenbrunner c. stuart-r. carter-sexton x stoa byfuglien-leopold e. johnson-martin goligoski-ballard x mcbain, mcdonagh stalock j. curry

The only Arizona born hockey player I can think of is former Manitoba Moose Dusty Collins.

He's currently back with us in the WB, but he got hurt (and Broadway Joe Vitale, Zach Sill...)
