www.winnipegsun.com/sports/columnists/ted_wyman/2011/03/28/17786486.htmlBased on this, if winnipeg gets the coyotes, I think there is a reasonable chance of the thrashers going to quebec city. They could survive in "le colisse" for 2-3 years until the new arena is finished. I would personally say the chances of this happening is like 10%. fingers crossed!!!!!!

Not that the NHL is big on basic decency, but wouldn't it be polite to let fans know before the final home game that the team is moving?

I'm from Quebec (but I cheer for the habs, never been a fan of the Nords) and I do think that the Trashers will go to Quebec, but maybe not this year. I think you guys in Winnipeg deserve to have a team before Quebec because everything is ready in Winnipeg. I really enjoy coming here reading the board like a soap opera. Hope the Coyotes die and they come back to Canada!

I thought they announced they were moving after they were elminated from the playoffs. It was a total surprise but it wasn't as well knnow by people as the coyotes situation

People were aware that the team could move, but they just realized it when the announcement was made on May 25, 1995. I will always be a true fan of the Canadiens but hockey hasn't been the same since the Nordiques left the city. It was so fun when we beat them day in and day out!

Personally, at the same time I feel Quebec should get its team first, as they lost the Nordiques one year before Winnipeg lost the Jets, but on the other hand, Winnipeg has been ready for 6 years to get a new NHL team. (not counting the 2 years before the new CBA)

Good point why would the NHL need to feel obligated to tell the fans. If they are really that dumb to not realize this may be their last games then who gives a rats behind! I still wish they would just announce it now.

Bryan Burke about mts center.
The NHL's return to Winnipeg has been rumoured for more than a year. Both the Phoenix Coyotes and the Atlanta Thrashers are teams that reputedly could relocate to Manitoba. Burke said he would like to see more NHL teams in Canada, but only if they would be able to succeed.
And he offered a cautionary note to fans who have been clamouring for the Jets return.
“Our rink (the Air Canada Centre in Toronto) seats 19,000, that rink (the MTS Centre in Winnipeg) seats 15,000,” said Burke. “Do the math. They have 20 luxury suites in that rink. We have 100-some-odd suites.”

Hey matrix - it's looking good!
I will be interested to hear what Bettman might say today in his weekly XM satellite radio show (between 4 and 5 Eastern time today).
It looks like you can listen live at the NHL website, on your computer.
Go Jets! Go Nords! Make it Eight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
