I know I might be stating the obvious but.... and I know I'm not a business major... but... Something's gotta be wrong with the NHL, specifically with it's salary structure .... when....
in order to sustain an NHL Team... you must have multiple revenu streams that are NOT hockey related? Shouldn't the players salaries (the cap) be directly related to the NHL's revenue...strictly based on hockey? gate + TV money+ merchandise...
Why should any team have to rely on the money that their arena is generating from non nhl events to help contribute to paying/running an nhl franchise? Especialy if the NHL team in question fills it's arena on hockey nights.?
If there is an NHL team that packs it's arena everynight....there should not be any problem...right?
