Rangers acquire forward Wojtek Wolski from Phoenix for Michal Rozsival By: The Canadian Press
NEW YORK, N.Y. - The New York Rangers acquired a skilled forward and some extra salary cap space on Monday, getting Wojtek Wolski from the Phoenix Coyotes for defenceman Michal Rozsival.
The 24-year-old Wolski has been struggling with just three points in his last 17 games.
He had 65 points last season while skating for Colorado and the Coyotes.
Rozsival spent five-plus seasons with the Rangers and was often a target for frustrated fans. In 32 games this season, he has three goals and 15 points.
The deal gives the Rangers an extra US$1.2 million beneath the salary cap.
Both players have one year remaining on their contracts — Rozsival's cap hit is $5 million while Wolski's is $3.8 million.

Getting sick of hearing that mans name, when we get a team we should make a pact and never speak that mans name again!

The interesting point is that they took on more salary...

I think the cap hit is $5m for Rozsival, but the actual salary to be paid to him next year is only $3m. Hopefully they don't do too many more of these deals until next year our Jets are at the cap with a crappy team!

This allows them to save $1 million dollars next year, while keeping their cap hit the same.

When the WHA Jets entered the NHL the NHL raped us of our team in order to make sure we were not competitive from the beginning. Will history be repeated, like will give you this team but we want these players to here and here etc!

Expect to see the Coyotes trade Turris, Boedker, + 1st Rounders for Rick Dipietro and the rights to Alexei Yashin...

^^Correct
Most of the Oilers were never drafted, Gretzky in particular. He was signed as underage players in the WHA and never drafted in the NHL so no NHL team had his rights. Most of the rest of the players that were part of their 80's teams were drafted in the first couple of drafts. Each WHA team protected 2 skaters and 2 goalies.

Gary Bettman made a trade? Is it only my imagination or do we have the dumbest commissioner in the NHL?

It will interesting to watch what deals Bettman pulls as the trade deadline nears and his team is just hanging in the last playoff spot. If they fail to make the playoffs the losses will be a huge headache!

Gretzky had a personal services contract with Skalbania/Pocklington so he was allowed to stay in Edmonton. The Oilers drafter far better than the Jets. We kept Scott Cambell and Morris Lukowich. Cambell played a handful of games for the Jets. It was sad, the team was decimated and then we took Jimmy Mann with our first round pick, complete waste
