I don't get it...Thrasher fans use the excuse of having a bad arena location for their games, but don't they have mass transportation down there? There's also the "bad product" excuse".
And to Hendrix no this is not a "question" thread.

Yeah they have mass transit, but from what I've heard MARTA is really inconvenient.
I think more than anything it's the lack of interest in hockey down there.

There is mass transit but as stated, MARTA is not the answer. It is a X shaped line in a city larger than Greater Toronto. A lot of the money, wealth and jobs is in the north and to be honest, to get anywhere, it takes hours. I remember being in ATL in 1990 on a 2-lane residential cross street and if you were taking a left hand turn out of my friends house, it would take 8 minutes before one could even pull out thier driveway. ATL is probably the worst designed city. It is a city with numerous suburbs with crowded interstates. No grid as much was built after 1945.
That said, it is still a bad sport city due to how hard it is to get around and no one is from there.
What is does have is a large corporate base with numerous regional, national and international HQs in the fast growing part of the US.
