A couple of interesting articles I found on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution website. Apologies if they have already been posted, but I don't recall seeing them before.
First, a straightforward denial of any relocation offer being on the table:

Quote:
Q. If that person comes in, is it to keep the team here? Or could that person come in with majority ownership and move the franchise?
A. We bought the Atlanta Thrashers. In doing that we signed agreements with the NHL. Even if we wanted to talk to somebody about moving, we are forbidden from doing that under our agreements with the NHL. Even if we wanted to talk to somebody who wanted to move it, it’s clearly stated in our agreements. We are forbidden from doing that. We’ve never had those discussions. Every rumor that’s been published, and I’ve seen rumors we were moving to Quebec, to Hamilton, to Winnipeg, Seattle, they’ve been 100 percent unfounded and unfair.
Second, confirmation that three groups are currently doing due diligence regarding buying into the franchise:

Atlanta Spirit co-owner Bruce Levenson and team president Don Waddell told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday that Stephen Rollins has not made an offer to purchase the team. He is also not one of three groups working with an investment banking firm to invest in the Thrashers. Levenson said earlier this month he expects the process with the three current groups to be completed within 90 days.
Finally, the cable network SportSouth has extended its contract with the Thrashers:

* I’m hearing that SportSouth has re-upped to do Thrashers television for three more seasons. Not sure if that has been out there or not. My understanding is the new deal also includes an increase in the number of games aired each season with up to 75 in the third year. I will let you know if I find out something more.
