CBC Sports and the American Hockey League announced a one-year broadcast agreement on Thursday. CBC will televise 10 games throughout the upcoming 2010-11 season, featuring AHL teams affiliated with one of six Canadian NHL clubs on Sunday afternoons. "We're looking forward to featuring the stars of hockey's future with the AHL on CBC," said Scott Moore, executive director of CBC Sports and general manager of media sales and marketing. All games will be streamed live and also available on-demand at CBCSports.ca. TV audience boost for Moose By: Staff Writer Posted: 19/08/2010 3:39 PM | Comments: 2
Print E–mail 0Share0ShareNewReport Error The Manitoba Moose will be exposed to their largest-ever TV audiences with the CBC's plans to pick up four games as part of their "AHL on CBC" package.
Some Moose games have been broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet in the past, but the jump to Canada’s national network will bring the team to a wider audience than it has ever seen before.
"The Hockey Night in Canada brand name would be the biggest name we’ve had behind Moose games," said Scott Brown, the club’s director of corporate communications and hockey operations.
The CBC will broadcast 10 Sunday afternoon AHL games throughout the season, each featuring teams affiliated with one of the six Canadian NHL clubs. In a statement, Scott Moore, executive director of CBC Sports, called the games an opportunity for the network to feature "the stars of hockey’s future."
As the primary affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, the Moose will feature in four of the games - two home games against the Abbotsford Heat (Calgary Flames) on January 23 and March 27 and two games in Toronto against the Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) on February 27 and April 3.
All games will be available live and on-demand on CBCSports.ca.

Hopefully MTS Centre is rocking for these two games. Give the CBC audience a sneak preview of future years.

I hate the Marlies as well however; it'll be fun to see a Toronto Crowd with 1500...+ or - in attendance....and Winnipeg at Capacity. ( 9000 OR 15,000 ) Not sure if the curtin will be lifted yet.

This is a great way to surprise the hell out of all the naysayers who think Winnipeg is too small to have an NHL team. If we can show them massive, passionate crowds even for the AHL, maybe they'll finally clue in.

Too much coverage of the Marlies D:
OKC and Binghamton (who i HATE, being rivals with my WBS Penguins) only air once, while Toronto gets like 8.
This is discrimination on American affiliates of Canadian teams.

This is discrimination on American affiliates of Canadian teams. Not really discrimination,Since this is the CBC they really just want to show games from Canada on a Sunday aft,Bing only shows up In Toronto and Hamilton once, while OKC only plays 6 games in Canada I think, those 2 TV games Bing and OKC play, are the only Sunday aft noon games they play in Canada.. I'm suprised every game doesnt have T.O.,Without Toronto the AHL would never have gotten a deal I think.

Hey Jimi, any word on what Moose season ticket numbers are looking like this year? I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a pretty significant increase
