No kidding, move on people, this music is garbage!! Your opinion only! You have to be careful with newer music. You have to make sure the song has already passed it's Popularity Arc, which is as follows: 1) Song is released and sees it's popularity rise, until it maxes out. 2) After peaking, the overplaying of the song finally becomes too much, and people become sick of the song. 3) Subsequently, the song plunges into the Valley of Unpopularity that lasts as long as the song was popular. 4) After some time passes, the song re-emerges on the air, and only gets played sporadically. While irritating at first, the song's inclusion into a larger playlist (on some "classic" or "oldies" station) allows the song to achieve a certain level of innocuousness, and letting the song "breathe" lets its positive attributes be re-appreciated. 5) Ultimately, enough time will have passed where the song loses all or most of its annoyances and Nostalgia takes over, with the song only reminding you of good times had in a youth gone by. Now, the song is ready. NB. Ideally, a theme song will be one who wasn't super popular at the time of release, either because the genre wasn't really popular, or because it was overshadowed at the time. This allows the arc to pass a lot quicker, as well as preventing it from garnering too much ill will. For hockey, an intro/theme song kinda has to rock, to get the crowd fired up. Plus, like it or not, Winnipeg is still a classic rock city. (Mostly because it reminds people of when Winnipeg was producing Big Time Superstars, and not just great musicians, as it still does today.)

For a classic rock suggestion: Immigrant Song by Zeppelin. ("We come from the land of the ice and snow...")

LOL - I never heard of 'em before and didn't know they were a Christian band. Song's cool though - and doesn't sound like what I would expect from a Christian band. Don't like it for the intro music though. That said, why'd you dismiss it just 'cause they're Christian? m. no worries! I dimiss all religions equally. ;D ..just of the mindset that public sporting events just like Government should be secular. Having a Christian band's song play means that the sporting event isn't secular?

My opinion two. My left nut has more talent then AC/DC. I highly doubt that. AC/DC freaking rocks. Sorry if you guys all need soft music by some poetic freaky deaky people... Millions in ACDC albums sold speak differently! Rock on boys (PS: ACDC still sells more albums than half of the no talent, new-age bums pumping out new music)

I will never understand why teams don't have a local group cover a song. For instance, we could have an audition for local groups to cover Jump. I know this is getting into the classic rock era, but having the Watchmen cover a song would be awesome, and bring a local flavour to it.

For a classic rock suggestion: Immigrant Song by Zeppelin. ("We come from the land of the ice and snow...") 99% of Zeppelin's songs are slow and boring, but this would be the one good one and very appropriate wording there obviously.

I think about 70% of the arenas play either "Welcome to the Jungle", "Kick-Start My Heart" or "Thunderstruck" for the opening song. I hope Winnipeg does something a little more refined, sort of like what Vancouver does with "Where the Streets Have No Name". Its a real slow intro that builds to a beat. Its a little more tastefull, than "Welcome to the Jungle" (by the way, I'm a huge Van Halen, AC/DC and Motley Crue fan). I can't suggest a song, but I hope some thought goes into creating an atmosphere, and not just cranking the volume to eleven . ...and that folks is my 2-cents
