Now that is cool...a domed stadium makes so much sense in our climate...imagine keeping out the cold and mosquitoes

There's nothing like sitting in the Stadium for Football on a beautiful summer night..or fall night for that matter. For the couple games that it is VERY cold for football, I'd rather we keep it open-air.
Remember the plan for the new arena back in the day? I think Paul Sveinsen or someone like that that proposed if taxpayer money went to a new arena, it should be a dual use facility, much like the one in the link, with one wall moving to create a hockey arena.

Haha this will clearly never happen, but to be honest it's a pretty cool idea. If TNSE were to own the new stadium, then to be honest it wouldn't be that far fetched of an idea.
We all know the size of the MTS centre is good for the city as it keeps demand high, but we have all also thought in the back of our minds about how a playoff run or those saturday night games against the oilers, leafs or penguins, etc could easily sell so many more tickets.
Like I said, it will never happen but to be honest, if TNSE owned the stadium as well it would make a lot of sense. And be pretty darn cool

Speaking of TN and the Stadium, why doesn't Asper approach Chipman about getting into bed together? TN has the cash to invest in a Stadium and it would create an amazing synergy between the pro football and pro hockey franchises in this city. In addition, rather than creating tense issues concerning competition for certain concerts and events, they'd be working together to bring all levels of shows to Winnipeg.

I've long thought the same thing. Only problem I could see getting in the way is Asper's ego. And that be a sizable problem

Well it seems TN and the Bombers ARE in bed together, cooperating on major concert attractions to the Stadium. One of the keys to the new Stadium under Jeff Thompson seems to be to continue and enhance that relationship.
That can only be a plus in my mind.
