So in Calgary, they scream the words SEE and RED when they are sung during the Star Spangled Banner... In Dallas, naturally, they do the same with the word STARS. I propose, as a thank you, that during O Canada, we should adopt the tradition of screaming out TRUE NORTH (as in "strong and free"). Of course this doesn't mean you can't also sing the rest of the anthem... just make sure this part stands out a little bit extra

I also was thinking this when everyone was singing Oh Canada at the Forks and on P&M Tuesday! Great idea for a new tradition and I truly hope it catches on! It would be a great show of appreciation/thank you to the people who made this happen!

Let's come up with our own traditions. Don't be like Vancouver and copy other teams.

Or, in stereotypical Winnipeg fashion (might be tough considering how quickly we sold out), we could just shout out when the anthem gets to "free"...

Very good idea! This is done in other arena's as well. I was at the Memorial Cup when it was in Kelowna 6 years ago.......and during the anthem they would chant the goalies name.....i had no idea what was going on the first time I saw the Rockets play. I thought I was at a religious ceremony for Catholics!
Anyways this is an excellent thing to do.....and a wonderful idea.

The Thrashers fans used to yell "KNIGHTS!" in place of Night in the Star Spangled Banner.

Another example is the Bombers when they get to "glorious and free" instead of free, the corner section goes BLUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Let's be the first team to do away with the tired "tradition" of playing the anthems...

How about just sing the anthem the way we are supposed too!? Trying to force traditions and be like other cities will look cheap! Traditions happen over time!
