Phoenix Coyotes plan WhiteOut festivities for NHL playoffs 12 comments Apr. 12, 2010 04:45 PM azcentral.com Fans in attendance for Game 1 on Wednesday between the Phoenix Coyotes and Detroit Red Wings in Glendale will receive a 2010 WhiteOut T-shirt courtesy of Fry's Food Stores. Fans are encouraged to come to the game dressed in white in honor of the Coyotes' "WhiteOut" tradition. Pregame festivities will begin at the Westgate Plaza in front of Jobing.com Arena at 4 p.m. with live music, food and merchandise booths. The "Bickley and MJ" radio show, featuring Arizona Republic columnist Dan Bickley, will broadcast on the plaza from 2-6 p.m. In addition, Coyotes Charities will hold an auction for a variety of WhiteOut-themed items and will be selling WhiteOut rally towels, wigs, noisemakers and more. All proceeds will benefit Coyotes Charities, which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life throughout Arizona communities by supporting non-profit organizations.The Jobing.com Arena doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. puck drop. Fans also can enter the arena by walking a white carpet outside Gate 4. For those unable to attend the game, fans can attend a viewing party at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, located in the Westgate City Center. LOL - here is a very good point... Winnipeg didn't have to give out free t-shirts... we just wore what we had at home... for the whiteout. A KNOWN FACT!
And I like how they put "honour of the Coyotes "whiteout" tradition" ... ummm ok.... if Winnipeg never did that, to give you the idea, I guarantee you never would have!

When the Peg comes back and I attend a Jets game, I WILL make sure I'll bring a white shirt to take part of the tradition - even though I'm a Wild fan!

I live near the WB/Scranton Penguins (Half the year) and they have the playoff whiteout. It's way too similar to the Jets' though, people wearing what they had at home. We dont give out shirts
