Nah, Seattle isn't even close to becoming an NHL ready city. Not for a few years, anyways.

As someone who plays in the league mentioned in the article Seattle would be a great destination for the NHL, but there is one special place I'd like to see the NHL return to first.

Could the Canucks try and deny a franchise to Seatle the way that Toronto did to Hamilton? Distance from Seattle to Vancouver is only 119 miles? Not quite the same as Toronto to Hamilton 40 miles granted but I'm sure the Canucks wouldnt want a team in what they would concider their area.

If the territorial radius for each city is 50 miles, then there is no issue for Vancouver. And it would be good for Vancouver anyway, for travel and to have a close territorial rival.

Key Arena isn't built for hockey -- they'd have to build a new one, which is the reason the Sonics left.
