Yikes. Another dumb schedule put out by the CFL Of our first 7 games, 4 are against Hamilton? I realize there aren't a lot of teams in the league but this is ridiculous. We also play them in the pre-season.

Does anyone have any information on how these schedules are made, and why they make them the way they do? I mean last year really sucked... half the season at home and half the season away.. it was really dumb!

A lot of people prefer the Friday night games since it doesn't interfere with their weekend cabin plans. Hit the stadium on Friday night and head out to Lake of the Woods Saturday morning. Doesn't work so well with a Saturday or Sunday game. m.

Ya I know you cant make everyone happy.
But I think the cabin deal is a crock.I remember back in the 90's or early 00's I believe fans complained about weekend games including Friday's,they said they had weekend plans to go to the cabin and such, well they scheduled a handfull of Thursday games.Bombers quickly moved games back to the weekend cause they outdrew weekday games.

With so few teams, I understand that the schedule will show alot of the same visitors over and over. I can live with that more than I could live with a US division!
(Aside: But it would be very nice to add Atlantic (Halifax or Moncton), Quebec City, London Ont, and maybe even Saskatoon added to this league in my lifetime. The extra local rivalries would only improve the league!)
But starting the season first week of July is ridiculous only when you end the season in November.
Move the last two games from the end of October and the first week of November into mid to late June. Move the preseason to the first week of June, training camp in May. Summer vacations for families haven't started yet and the draw at the gate would be better in most CFL cities due to warmer weather compared to those late season games.
Or has the almighty Dollar via national TV deals pushed for the later schedule?

Than they have to compete with the Stanley Cup finals.
The Eskimoes here have a lot of Thursday night games because season ticket holders whined about weekend games. Who wants to watch a football game on a Thursday night? Not me.

The CFL is just not the NFL,
Americans I'm sure have places to go on the weekends, but guess what, their there every single Sunday........or Monday, or Thursday or Saturday during the playoffs......

Who wants to watch a football game on a Thursday night? Not me. Yup same thing that happened in the Peg. I've heard all the complaints about the Thurs night games in Ed.Funny how those games dont draw as well as the weekend ones.I guess the fans complained enough that they dont have 1 thur's game this year.
