...not sure by who, but here is a blurb from Charles Wang at the BOG meetings. www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=302494New York Islanders owner Charles Wang stopped on his way into the meeting and took a couple questions about the uncertain future of his team after an Oct. 3 deadline passed with no decision on the Lighthouse project that would see a new arena built on Long Island.
Wang acknowledged that he's taking calls from people interested in bringing the Islanders to their city, but declined to identify them: "I don't want to do this in the press. You understand."
He was noncommittal when asked if the team still have a future in Long Island.

I guess it all hinges on whether or not his Lighthouse Project actually happens... John Tavares in a Jets jersey?!? *drools*

He's probably just using all of this as a bargaining chip, but it is nice to dream.

Wang has a short fuse and doesn't take any sh1t from anyone, If his lighthouse project doesn't get moving soon he will move the team

I am not sure but, I think VivianMB could enlighten us all on the NYI situation. I believe he grew up seeing games there & might know more than us members about the situation there.
Personally, I do not think "Wang" cares about what happens to the team itself. From what I've heard; he bought that franchise ( and arena ) for the land that it's built on NOT because he loves hockey.....
