If you go to the video that says: MTS Centre 5 years www.moosehockey.com/featurevideos/284/19Shows how successful the arena is. I like the part talking about continuing to improve the entertainment experience, and looking forward to the best of the best coming to Winnipeg. Whether that means NHL is another question, but none the less, the arena has been quite the thing since it opened.

Jim Ludlow said that they will continue in the next 5 years to provide us with "Tier 1" sports and enternatainment.
Here's hoping that the AHL is considered "Tier 2" sports and I'm sure everyone was hoping he meant the NHL= Tier 1 ;D
VERY COOL VIDEO THOUGH THAT MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A WINNIPEGGER!!!!!

true north certainly is a well-run operation from top to bottom. I have great confidence they would run a first rate NHL team. Does anyone miss Winnipeg Enterprises???

Most "New" NHL arenas look the same. Our's certainly IS NHL Standard.

The only difference from the MTSC is that they had enough land to build it for normal sized people and don't have to cut out seats to make more room or loose seats for cameras etc.etc.etc...! They built it for the NHL we did not and are now trying to make it work for the NHL!

Think about it......Has the NHL Said "It's Too Small"....NO! Get your head outta your arse....

Not that WHA can't speak for himself, and I certainly don't want to step on any toes, but...
What I think he's trying to say is that the MTS Centre was shoe-horned into an area that might be a tad small, with the real effect being that the seating is cramped with limited foot room (hey, I'm 6'1" and 250lb).
I'm pretty confident that there are enough seats to generate a decent amount of gate revenue, and the amenities (luxury suites, etc.) are certainly NHL-calibre.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled bickering...

I can agree with this. The MTSC has what it needs to generate NHL revenue, and that's all that matters since we're true hockey fans!
But most of us have to admit it doesn't quite have all the extra comforts it could have it just had a little more land space. But it also kept the costs down so hey, works for me!
