Question - isn't it possible to just delete offensive posts instead of an entire thread? Specifically, in cases where there is at least some reasonable discussion going on...

Now that Viv has been taken away due to work for a while; I also would just like to say that I will not accept any TROLLING on this site!
To All JetsOwner members who feel that they know of someone "trolling", please PM me and I will follow that individual OR take care of their account all together.
That "HotDog" poster didn't last too long....

I know it sounds funny, but I really haven't heard that wording used in that context before!

trolling i would define as the activity of posting messages on a forum with the main intention of eliciting anger or other strong emotions from people, not being sincere in one's posts but just trying to elicit an emotional reaction from people, making up things and having a laugh at the expense of others, etc...and doing such activity over and over again in short period of time...

my brother and i had just recently signed up to Jetsowner He goes by the name CMMNDR, well for some reason he is banned and i would like to know why , he asked me to do this because He simply cannot logg on and he doesnt know why . can someone pls explain . i hope we can work this out

There is a very well known poster who goes by the name "Commander" who posts on "Winnipeg Free Press". That user supports the idea of the NHL coming back but, bashes everybody & everyone who may not think it could work. There is no escuse for the names he calls people & his / her attitude is not something needed on Jetsowner. I would ask you change your user name from any reference to "Commander" if you are not the same person. If you brother IS "Commander" on the Winnipeg Free Press site; he will not be on this site too long if he holds that same frame of mind I can assure you. |

I think that's a little bit over the top. A more reasonable suggestion would be to let there be a sticky thread in the main return of the jets forum. Let's not turn this into another Hockey's Future. |

"Actually, you are dead wrong. i read jetsowner.com all the time, and I feel sad for the posters that populate that site and scavenge after every scrap of information. The desperation is palpable. Mind you, I have no time for the meanspiritedness and xenophobia that crops up, but there are some nice and sincere people there. How could anyone not feel bad for them when they take negative developments that occur from time to time and engage in mental contortions to keep a positive outlook, or pounce on relatively benign news and blow it out of proportion? Even some of your own crew acknowledge that there are a lot of pollyannahs." |

he's been personally been taking shots at this site, darren in particular, and everything else winnipeg since i've been on hfboards.i'd classify him as a "hater".
but ,i have a better question...why would you advocate for him? he's a "lawyer" he can defend himself.

Everyone deserves one chance and it reflects very poorly on this site for moderators to be prejudging people based on what they have said on another board. |
