if Saskatoon got a team, wouldnt that kind of KILL football in Saskatchewan? i get how rabid they are about the Riders, but to me, two teams means less fans. dont get me wrong, i WISH it could work, but it wont.

I have never really understood the concept of domed stadiums in smaller cities. The cost is extravagant, and it takes away from the experience of watching football in it's natural environment- outdoors. Once Montreal moved out of the big O, and into a more suitable outdoor field, the teams attendance and popularity took off. It would probably be the same situation in Toronto, but they need to built a more football-friendly facility, as the Skydome was bulit mainly for the Blue Jays and for attracting big name concerts to Ontario.
I've been to BC Place, and it just seems that domed stadiums take something away from the whole experience of watching live football.

You like to read in between the lines eh? ;D They don't plan on adding a new team in Saskatoon... THey plan on building a new stadium there and relocating from Regina to Saskatoon... LOL!

I don't see why having a team in Saskatoon as well as Regina wouldn't work. Saskatoon has a larger population and there's a rivalry between the cities already. And the distance between the two cities is large enough that attendance probably wouldn't suffer that much if at all in Regina.
I'd prefer to see the CFL expand into the maritimes or Quebec City first though

I don't know where you guys are hearing this but its not going to happen even if it could work. Saskatchewan Rough Riders get there fans all over the province not just Regina and a large portion also comes from Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and smaller towns.

The story at www.cbc.ca/sports/football/story/2008/02/15/roughriders-saskatoon.html briefly mentions that there are two version of the stories There isn't a lot of chatter on this so i would suspect it doesn't have much momentum. But someone is looking into something - we're obviously not privy to exactly what at this stage.

I dont think 2 teams would work, it's in the best interest of the province to stay one team only. I do agree %100 with the CFL in Moncton or Halifax (both maybe?) and QC.

With Canwest on the verge of bankruptcy are the Aspers still pursuing buying the Bombers and building a new stadium?
