Does the team belong more to Winnipeg, or to Vancouver?
The players are all Vancouer's property. Vancouver decides who plays.

How about the "Winnipeg Puppets"? Then they could play "Master of Puppets" by Metallica at every game.

The Moose are a good puppet hockey team. But MASTER of all puppet teams?
That remains to be seen.

The "vancouver losers" is more fitting.
I agree about the IHL prior to 1995. However, after the CBA of 94-95, the WHA-Lite business plan the I had crashed and burned and we got what was left. Too bad chipman showed no committment to winning when we were there or the city would have embraced the team more.

How about the "Minnesota" Moose.
That's where they originated.

Isn't there more exciting things to discuss than the Moose?

Whether you realize it or not, the Moose have become apart of our community, we should consider ourselves fortunate to have them, Hear Me Out,Suppose The Moose never landed here, I guess there might not have been a real need to build a new arena, for what, a few concerts yeaaaaaah, They actually lend Great credibility to this city as a HOCKEY TOWN that had been done a injustice, we have as a result been able to stay close to the door and hopefully be able to barge right through when it again opens, do you think we'd be a top contender right now without them?EXPOSURE, EXPOSURE, EXPOSURE, it's everthing, without them we're just a bunch of bleeding hearts that can't let go! I would like to see the Moose become OUR AHL affiliate if ever we aquire a new team, and then send them to Regina or Better yet QUEBEC CITY with a big Thank You. Could be worse, they could be Phoenix's affiliate, Besides this team is a winner, and may pull something off yet, anything wrong with that!

I never said anything about LOVE! Only trying to make a point that The Moose have served a purpose over the last 10 yrs.

What if we get a team back. And, because it's been ten years, there are already so many people who have either left this city who were Jets fans, or are just kids whose only memories of a hockey team in this city are the Moose. What if the new owners decide to call the new team the Manitoba Moose?
Now, that being said, there's is nothing I'd like to see more than a return of the Jets.
But, it's been ten years? And, a lot of the kids (future ticket buyers) don't remember them.
Thoughts?

well everyone in Winnipeg should know their history, esspicially in hockey. Im pretty sure that all the youth know about the Jets, maybe not all the details or history and players, but with the internet that could all be figured out. they might want that now, bit their 5-10 years old, they'll thank us later when they come to their senses

Yep, them being callled the MOOSE has a high likelyhood, especially if Chipman's involved, after all, the rights to the name "JETS" would have to be aquired, that requires cash, Chipman being the Owner of the Moose, could just transfer the Name to the New team at little or no cost, and the Moose could be moved elsewhere under a new NAME. I wouldn't want that, but look at it like this, The building is accented with Moose colors, Red, White and Blue would clash with the building decor!

I wouldn't think it would require that much cash to call the team the "Winnipeg Jets". The NHL owns the name, so if Winnipeg was to get a team, the NHL may just give the name back to Winnipeg. I sure am glad Phoenix doesn't own the name!
