Fact is we want to be there and we have trained throughout our careers to be ready for a situation like this. I hate it when I see people who have no knowledge of the military say they don't want Canadian troops in battle. In fact we want to be there and I will be leaving in July for six months and I look forward to serving my country and helping those people rebuild their lives and country.

I would rather they were doing something more useful to the world If helping to rebuild a country and provide safety to law abiding citizens of that country isn't a useful cause, then I don't know what is. Be safe mojo.

I am an MP and based in Winniepg. oh....eewww! ;D lol I get that a lot. I actually started out in the PPCLI and then decided to switch over to an MP. Bascially because I joined when I was 18 so I will only be 38 when I retire from the military and will then join the city police after that. Figure I will have a military pension and then do 20 years with the city police and be retired at 58 with two pensions. Works for me.

Just signed up myself in the US and will probably end up in Afghanistan or Iraq within the next 6 months. I know alot of American guys that served in Afghanistan who had nothing but the highest respect for the Canadian soldiers there with them.

Well folks must say I love reading this message board and even though I might have caused some problems in the past I hope the Jets do come back to Winnipeg.
I was supposed to leave in July to go over seas but that has now been moved up and I am heading over to Afghanistan this coming Friday.
All the best to you great sports fans and I am going to miss Bomber home games the most.
