Myself personally would much rather get season tickets for the Wheat Kings. It's better hockey, plus I'd be saving money. Can't go wrong with that. Just wish that we had a team here in Wpg!

I just don't like having a team that's affiliated with another team. I hate call ups during the season, especially those that really arn't needed. Like when the Canucks call up a leading point-getter only to sit him. Nothing against the Moose, I just would rather a team that is independent. I like WHL hockey, so I picked Wheat Kings...such a sweet name for a hockey team too.

He was my favorite player and watching him brought joy to my heart. Then those assclowns in Vancouver call him up to ride the bench and play 5:39 mins a game as opposed to just over 20. Ever since then I've hated our affiliation. I feel good for the players but it's frustrating to support a team that isn't stable. I like WHL hockey, so I picked Wheat Kings...such a sweet name for a hockey team too. Best team name in the CHL! ;D

I dont know a lot about the WK's but I like em..
The AHL talent is better, it is still a pro league...but I like the way the CHL is ran, and the players in the Dub play hard...a lot of these guys in junior are going to be good players/have a lot of potential.
So, I dont know...its tough. I like both leagues, but I don't like how the AHL is run with the NHL, and WHL is exciting hockey.

I agree totally, it would totally rule if we got a WHL team, I'd get season tickets for sure since they're rather afforable. Season tickets for the Wheaties cost me only $50 more than my mini pack for the Moose, so I'd be down for sure! ;D

Brandon Wheat Kings.
NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.
The only pro hockey team that *belongs* to the province of Manitoba.
And they have a great team *every* year.

I know that's your standard schtick, BT, but the Wheaties aren't pro. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but WHL is an amateur league. I'll take both - certain aspects to both that I like...any hockey is better than no hockey. I just wish the Moose weren't affiliated with the Canucks. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll change their affiliation to somebody else.

Another "plus" for Wheat Kings hockey IMO is the fact most of those guys are from Manitoba.

I know that's your standard schtick, BT, but the Wheaties aren't pro. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but WHL is an amateur league. And the AHL is "professional"? Last game I went to was more boring than watching paint dry. Then Timbits came on... oh those loveable children hacking and slashing away. ;D

And the AHL is "professional"? Like it or not, those guys get paid to play hockey, enough so they don't have to work another job. That makes them pro. The Wheat Kings, however, are not pro. No junior or college team is pro. Hence, the "junior" part.

I am well aware of that, I just feel that its sad that junior hockey is more entertaining than professional hockey.

Chipman always brags that the AHL is the "second best" league in the world...
Well I really couldn't care less when the team I'm watching isn't even *Winnipegs* team...

Wheaties baby!
They play tonight in Saskatchewan, and I think Shaw is televising it, I get to watch it here, in the comfort of my own home. On a really bad public cable access network. Wayne's World anyone?
Making it 12 in a row, your Brandon Wheat Kings. Suck it S'toon.
/schwing!

I am well aware of thatquote] I didn't doubt it, but BT seems to need reminding.
