similar to the additional exhibition game idea, i'd like to see a
Jets Prospects / Young Stars vs Team Canada World Juniors
matchup in the pre-season. It would have to be the year before's WJ squad, but that's all right. Think of the buzz they generated here having their training camp/pre-tournament ames. And the way us hockey-crazed fans track prospects ourselves using the internet, demand to see prospects play in person is often at a fever pitch well before the players are ready for the big club. should be a money maker.
my concerns: 1) the novelty wears off after a few seasons. 2) whatever teams the propsects are currently with might be leary of risking injury in such a game and block them from going. 3) this might fall smack dab in the middle of training camps / tryouts for players from both sides.

selanne405, those were courtesy of Robbie Schremp...watch his shots in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins skills competition if you want your jaw to drop. I had the pleasure of watching the kid in the OHL the past four years. Will be one of those electrifying offence types in the NHL.
Just to reiterate your concerns: I don't think it would be realistic to get the team Canada junior team to play an exhibition game at that point. Most players would already be practicing at training camp with other NHL teams, the coaches would be busy preparing for the CHL season, and some CHL teams would not want to let their players leave for one exhibition game. If you have a kid out in St. John's, I doubt Real Paiment would want to send him out to Manitoba for an exhibition game, especially when the Q starts in mid September.
Good idea, just not feasible

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.... I guess it's on to plan B then: try to stirke up a deal with Hockey Canada where we get to host Team Canada's training camp and exhibition games in years they play in North America.
