Whenever I think I've come up with my last revenue source, I think of another... A Jets DVD. Now hear me out... Before you hear my idea, know that this could be available via a new WinnipegJets.com to anyone on the planet (via Credit card, cheque, money order). It would also be available in the official Jets "Team Store" in the MTS Centre. A Jets DVD could take one of 3 forms: 1. Show highlights of their greatest moments from 1972-1996. 2. Have several dvd's showcasing the most influential games in Winnipeg Jets history. 3. "The Fall and Resurrection of the Jets", starting in the year 1995, talking about their last few years, efforts to build a new arena, etc., to the Moose, to the MTS Centre, to the campaign to bring the Jets back to Winnipeg, and their return (fan reaction, highlights from 1st game, etc.) Of course, 100% of the profits from these DVD's would go to the Jets.

Better yet, do all 3. A 3-disc set: Disc 1, 1972-96 Disc 2, Fall & Resurrection Disc 3, Extras: - Game highlights, clipped to 10-20 minute "extended highlight" packages. - A blooper reel featuring Sergei Bautin. - A Dancin' Gabe music video - And best of all, an Easter Egg of BlackThorne hanging a 100-foot "WE TOLD YOU SO!" sign off the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver. ;D
Whatever form it takes, this would be a great idea. I'd buy it!

Great idea.
I wanted to buy a DVD of the Calgary Flames playoff run, but could only find the freaking Tampa Bay Lightning video.

I don't really remember too much of Bautin... but I'm assuming he was bad.
Real bad.

I don't really remember too much of Bautin... but I'm assuming he was bad. Real bad. He wasn't that bad. It's just there was so much hype upon his arrival, that he never lived up to expectations.

I would buy it as well. This DVD shouldn't be released until after the first season of the Jets' return. Why? So it could cover events such as the announcement of the return, the first training camp, local media coverage leading up to the season opener, the season and home openers... if there's a playoff season, coverage on that...
Perhaps a documentary by using a combination of all the television stations, plus get the league to cover some of the historical events...
For those who haven't been to Winnipeg yet such as myself, show a tour of the city (then and now), show out-of-towners in the 1972-1996 WHA/NHL section where the Winnipeg Arena stood, have archived footage of the history of the building, etc...
Darren should be mentioned somewhere. Perhaps when discussed how the campaign started and he could be interview in one of the segments...
These are random thoughts that have come to mind. I hope this helps.

You could probably sell individual game DVD's also. Maybe you go to a game and wanna be able to relive that game again and again. Or a really exciting game with lots of goals/fights/etc... I might be persuaded to buy a game on DVD. Just have the jumbotron feed or inhouse tv coverage burned onto discs.

I don't really remember too much of Bautin... but I'm assuming he was bad. Real bad. Bautin wasn't that bad. Although one wonder why they drafted him in the first round of the 1992 NHL draft at age 25. He ended up playing two seasons with the Jets, before being relegated to the minors for the remainder of his pro career.
