Katz says Human Rights Museum on track Talk about the proposed Canadian Human Rights Museum has moved to Winnipeg City Hall.
Mayor Sam Katz says everything appears to be in order for the 172 million dollar museum at The Forks. There have been suggestions that the Canadian Human Rights Museum is in jeopardy, but Katz says that's not what he's hearing.
And money-wise, Katz says the city is on track as well. Under former mayor Glen Murray, the city agreed to a 20 million dollar contribution in the form of tax forgiveness and land deals. The mayor says he hasn't specifically been asked to contribute more money.
He confirms the museum was one of the hot topics of discussions on his trip to Ottawa last week, but won't go into many details because he won't negotiate through the media.
CJOB's Tamara King reporting.

Its great to hear the Museum is still going to happen. I find the future site doesn'r belong there. It just an odd area that just happened to have land availibility. Isn't the forks area suppose to be a open grass meeting place. This meseum would be better served if it was on memorial, broadway anywheres near the legistature. I hear this Museum is going to attract some goverment offices from around the world. so wouldn't the downtown area near the legislature be a better fit.
