Actually, Hamilton has been ahead of Winnipeg for the past few years, since the last census figures. Hopefully Winnipeg can get back to seventh place within the end of the decade.

The only thing I want to pass Hamilton in is the number of NHL teams that we have in our city.

Never mind that Hamilton and Quebec City have more people; once Winnipeg gets the Jets back, Canada will once again recognize Winnipeg as a first-rate, top-6 Canadian city.
It's more about the respect your city receives and the attributes your city has than population.

Winnipeg's population is growing none the less. It is actually catching up to Hamilton and Quebec since the last census.
We will pass them in the next few years!

Hamilton is not growing at all. It's Burlington that is growing. 2 completely different cities, with one CMA.

Blackthorne was the most dedicated and passionate Jetsowner forum member ever to grace these forums. Only he was a little unstable, and did more harm than good. He now goes by the name "Commander1" on the Winnipeg Free Press comments forums.
Blackthorne had a big heart, and wanted the Jets to return. Only problem is he went off the deep end. It's a shame, really.
