The pengiuns are too stuck-up to consider moving here. They'd rather go bankrupt than move to a city where people would actually watch them.

I would hope that if the pens do move, Mario would like to have it in a Cdn city. If he did he'd get the key to the city that's for sure

I would hope that if the pens do move, Mario would like to have it in a Cdn city. If he did he'd get the key to the city that's for sure mario always refused to play here and always came up with a mystery illness or injury to avoid having to play here. Why does anyone think he would move his hockey team here if he wouldn't even play here? Pittsburgh is folding or moving to Kansas City, not to Winnipeg. Still, there will be better fish in the sea soon enough...

Not sure who the group is, or where there from, but Mario has said that he has been contacted by a group interested in purchasing the team and relocating it. www.tsn.ca

Althought it would be awesome so have that team here, i wouldn't want them because there are alot of die hards in pitts. Wouldn't be fair to steal a team from them, like Pheonix did to us.

Just let the lockout play itself out.
When it's over there will be quite a few teams to choose from.
And, then we'll get one.

Winnipeg Penguins has a nice ring to it, but anyway as I said before the city is waiting to see how the new cba plays then they will build the new arena. I would hate to see Pitts leave, I like the rivalry that exist between them and philly.

i would like to see them stay in pittsburgh but i would take any team. but if we would get them, we would HAVE TO re-name them to the jets.

Phoenix didn't steal your team. They more like inherited it because americans had bought the Jets and wanted to move the team to the States. There was no real desire by the local population or businessmen to have a team. At that time Bettman wanted to explore the south so he pushed for them to move to Phoenix. Which was a huge risk considering that the people of AZ didn't know hockey very well. I remember a Habs-Nordiques game played in Phoenix in 93-94 at the time the NHL was experiencing ''neutral ground'' games. I thought Phoenix did well for that game and deserved a shot at NHL hockey, much like San Jose, Anaheim, Florida and TB had just been granted teams. But not at the expense of a wonderful hockey city like Winnipeg. They should have received an expansion team instead. I think the NHL now realizes the mistakes it had made in this southern trip. Only San Jose, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Dallas have been successful. Hopefully Winnipeg, Hartford and Quebec City will all get the NHL back, but I think Winnipeg is the front runner. The next team to relocate will move to the 'Peg that's for sure. There are no other viable markets available.
