Here's one that even the "newer/younger" Jets fans should be able to remember.
Fifteen years ago today (March 2, 1993) Winnipeg Jets rookie Teemu Selanne scored three goals, in a 7-4 loss to the Quebec Nordiques, and passed Mike Bossy's rookie goal scoring record of 53 goals.
He would go on to score a rookie record 76 goals during the 1992-93 season.
For those of you who don't remember, though. Teemu also scored four goals (against the Minnesota North Stars) in the game prior to the one he broke the record.

I was about 8 rows up at the Nordiques blue line. I didn't see the goal though because I was sitting down and the people in front of me stood up just before Selanne knocked the puck into the net.
I've been lucky enough to witness a few great moments involving Winnipeg's sports teams. Selanne breaking the rookie record is the best one ever.

I'd say that's still the greatest sport "moment" I've ever witnessed in person. Mostly because it is now, and probably will be for some time, an NHL record. So, that's being witness to history.
Other cool moments I was at the arena for were:
1) Ellett's 2OT Winner against Edmonton (we had 'em). 2) Brian Mullen's OT winner against Calgary in the playoffs in 1985. 3) Gretzky's 2,000th point. 4) Hawerchuk's 50th goal in 84-85 (Spinerama/Breakaway) 5) Teemu's 4 goal night against Minny. 6) The last playoff round against Detroit in '96.
There are too many others to list. But, those are just a few faves.

I was in:
SECTION 32 ROW 8 Seat 13 ( Dad was in 14 )
That is dead center, Penalty Box side. My hands hurt so badly from clapping so hard for so long that night but, it was worth it! Amazing times........

I was doing homework and listening to it on the radio. Not too exciting, but at least I heard it happen...
