I tried logging into the JetStream forum but I never got a registration confirmation, and that forum is REALLY poorly designed.
I'm wondering if there will soon be an official "unofficial" Jets fan forum (like CalgaryPuck), otherwise, I'll just wait for the official forum on the team's website to open...
I don't want to be a part of any forums who are run by Darren Ford-bashers (YourWinnipegJets). Anyone know of a forum that's at least being worked on??

There's also a bunch of members at jetsbelievers.proboards.com, with jetsfan88 ready to break a rather large story. The forum is not overly moderated and so far, hasn't experienced any childishness, ROTJ and other forum mentions are condoned, Your welcome to check it out and help build it as all suggestions of a valid nature are considered.

You won't go wrong with either jetsbelievers or jetshockeyforum. They're each developing their own distinctive feel and dovetail together nicely.
Hedge your bets and sign up for both. That's what I did, and I just won a bet on the Toronto - Montreal game. Coincidence? Maybe. Relevant? No. Puff posting to up the post count? Almost certainly.

I still kind of hold a grudge towards the Free Press so I'm very happy to see Jets Hockey !! A lot of people feel that way and are also weary of the WFP's style of deletion and censorship. I had asked in another thread if DF will have final say on moderation of the WFP forum and got no reply which would worry me about getting to invested there. GO with the other two forums and get as many people as you can to sign up and discuss JETS Hockey there and to hell with the WFP.

I never heard back after trying to register either...twice! ...hey ...you dont want my business then I will take it elsewhere. buh bye. Very poor execution, hard to believe DF is involved in that site. jetshockeyforum looks like the real deal to me so far.

I feel bad for DF in this matter. You have to believe under normal circumstances he would never endorse something like the WFP forum and it's association with the WFP. But a good deal is a good deal so you cant blame him. I only hope he got a very sweet deal to shut this place down.

I'm wondering if the two ProBoards forums would soon merge. Seems like they're both kinda redundant.
Every sports team has a Number One unofficial fan board, and I would hate to see that title being split amongst several different ones. I don't like signing up to multiple boards and visiting multiple boards daily.
But I would hope that the "market", so-to-speak, will soon drive some of these boards out of commission once certain people sway towards one or two main boards.

I signed up for both too and like them both. Its good not having 4500 members you don't get all the BS. Easier to control.

Unfortunate for DF that the WFP stuff was not ready for prime time when he was ready to shut down ROTJ. It really needed to be ready to go for a smooth transition to take place. Now that won't happen.
I'm not sure why they didn't just go with some proven, if somewhat boring, forum software for version 1. Like say proboards, phpbb, vbulliten, etc. People would've signed up and immediately felt comfortable.
Doing something custom for a site launch was a big mistake. I'm skeptical of the need to reinvent the wheel at all, but if they insist on having their own cutting edge stuff, it should've been for version 2. That'd give them time to work everything out, and roll out their new forum after they'd already captured the market.
But I guess it is fine that this site ends, and doesn't get a true re-incarnation. This is a new era. Jetsowner.com and this forum served us well for many years, as easily the best resource for information and HOPE regarding the Return of the Jets. Now they're back.

I dont believe for a second that the WFP forum was meant to be a "place holder" til the "real" forum was ready. WFP arrogantly launched their terrible forum and assumed everyone would migrate over there, especially with DF's endorsement. Now they are in damage control mode.
I'd be happy to see the two proboards forums merge also but if not, so be it. They just need more people making the effort to get over there and post.

With RotJ shutting down and the Winnipeg Free Press site looking rather sub-par, a couple of us have decided to work on building a new community. We\'re working on making Alljets.ca the place for discussion and analysis of the Winnipeg Jets, the St. John\'s Ice Caps and our prospects. We plan on running game day threads and having a particularly strong St. John\'s element, as True North intends on development through the draft. So check us out and register, comment and contribute. alljets.ca/

Dont need more forums. Just get together with one of the other two good ones (and ignore WFP). I'll probably check out Jetstream if it changes but I'm still curious if DF will have the decision-making power on censorship (I've asked a couple times and no answer). WFP is well known for censorship and thats the last thing you want from a forum (often why "official" forums aren't as good as the top fan forums).
