I believe that True North actually does own evening parking rights for four parkades downtown: Cityplace, Millennium Library, Portage Place and Winnipeg Square. They do not own the evening parking rights for Cityplace. I have a 24/7 parking pass there... I believe they get part of the lot for event nights. A lot of the parkades have monthly/reserved spots.

I still don't understand how TN makes money off of parking - there's so much free parking on the streets around MTS. m. Really? tons of people like me have no problem paying $10 for parking so we can have a short walk into MTSC... 1000's of cars/fans will grab the closest spot available.. Same as any concert or other event that is held at MTSC.

This is what happens when I only put half my post What I meant was, there's so much free parking on the street and all the lots are owned by entities other than True North. It has since been pointed out that TN must have agreements with the parking providers to get a cut of their revenues. m.
