i am bring this up cause i feel every one should know this , i was going for a walk around the MTS Center and the Jets store was still Open so i went in cause i wanted to look around and ask about the Jerseys , so i was telling the guy at the Jets store that the prices at Royal sports and River City Sports are over priced and he agreed and he said he knows and he even told me that buying thrue thows guys we are not supporting the Jets at all , all we are doing is earning places like River City Sports money cause the Jets store sells thows places gear and they re sell them for profit , so when you are thinking of buying Jets Gear buy it off of the real source witch is the Jets store and heck its even cheaper and you are supporting our team the Jets .The Jets Store is the only place i will be buying my Jets Gear from and heck cause i am a season Ticket Holder i get a 15% Discount i think starting eather half way thrue the season or the next season , so when i buy my Jersey from them i keep my receipt and when they start the 15% Discount i bring the receipt back to them and they give me my 15% money back . Thank You for reading .

Uh yeah, you are still supporting the Jets if you buy at River City or Royal. You said so yourself - "the Jets store sells those places gear". TNSE still makes their profit. It's completely unreasonable to believe that the Jets store can fill the needs of everyone's merch wishlist.

I'm not totally positive on what he was talking about but, I would like to point put that Royal and River City are local businesses and deserve our money as well..

At the risk of getting flamed, I agree with him to a degree. Buying merch from any source other than TN, the money is split among the 30 NHL teams. Buying from TN, they get the profit.
Having said that, if they dont carry the merch you want, then so be it, buy local. But for me, I'd go to TN first and if they didnt have what I wanted, then I'd go to one of the local places.

Yeah, it's not like the Jets sell these things to the stores. The NHL does. So yeah, the money gets distributed. If I'm spending the same money anyway (or less!), then I'm getting my gear from the Jets Gear store. The memory of losing the team still stings even though they're back. There are a lot of things I can't control, but some I can, so I'm going to make sure the money I spend on the Jets is going to the Jets as much as possible.
I completely understand getting stuff from cheaper elsewhere, 'cause for some people it's cheaper or nothing. But if you're going to spend the same kind of money, support the team in every way you can, I figure.

Yes lets not buy from any local place that you could get Jets stuff for the last 15 years and put them out of business now How much Jet's merch would be out in the public over that time without them, would this team still be called the Jets without them selling stuff? I wanted to buy Jets stuff at the Moose store over the years, but they didnt seem to have any, should we boycott TN too?

TNSE has it covered from each and every angle. merch sales are way down the list.

I would have gotten my jersey from the Jets store if they had online pre-ordering, but they don't, so I got it from Jersey City. As you say, probably far down on their list of things to do and understandably so, but I am impatient.

Don't buy a car from anywhere other than Birchwood, we need to make sure the Chipman family gets all our auto-dollar proceeds. Also, don't read any paper except the Globe and Mail - to do otherwise means you don't support our new NHL team.
