Comments got deleted here too. Let's pretend the deleted comments were, I don't know, anti-Semetic. You're OK with leaving those up?
I don't get all the anger and the "DF sold out" bullsh*t. He doesn't "owe" you anything. If it's losing the community that bothers everyone so much, then don't you think it will happen on it's own at one of the start-ups?
(using "you" to speak to everyone and noone in particular)

Hannu seems to be in denial about the Winnipeg Free Press and their removal of comments from readers. It is just about one of the worst places I have ever seen for deleting comments that may or may not be offensive. I'm sorry to say, but I have no confidence in the Free Press in their ability to oversee a hockey forum. |

What does having a team have anything to do with people giving opinions about a new forum site. I said it in an earlier post that DF likley made some money by pushing us to the WFP site and I for one don't blame him as he spent a lot of time maintaining this one. That being said we all have choices and all that people are saying here is that the FP site isn't the best. I for one appreciate the feedback as I want to find the best new forum to use....even if the comments seem pissy. I'm just not sure why you use the word bellyaching about people voicing their opinions. It would be my opinion that you seem like the person who should use the FP site and let them control you. This site is done let it die and move on....stop being a bunch of babies and grow up....DF doesn't owe any of you anything....if he was to charge money to keep the site open 99% of people would Go Jets Go about him being greedy and just move to a new site anyways....
P.S. Don't bother posting you would be willing to pay to keep the site open because we all know that no one pays to be a forum member so it is all lip service.

Ofcourse there are certain comments that *should* get deleted. Those are the ones that are obvious, not when someone feels a comment goes against the editorial politics of the newspaper.

It's been a great ride, especially with you old timers. I remember coming here some days in 2008 and it seemed there wouldn't be a new post for a day or two in this particular forum.
Probably not going to go to the new boards, but I might peruse them every once in a while. I'll probably stick to the HF boards or the new one for us greybeards. They ain't perfect, but it's probably the best place for NHL talk on the internet. I'll be haunting the Pittsburgh, Winnipeg and Business of Hockey subforums.

This thread epitomizes EXACTLY why this board has reached its conclusion. Like honestly guys. I've got a lot on my plate, I cannot babysit how out of control this has become. So go to run a board that is moderated or "censored" to a higher level...damn straight! It is clearly needed!!!!
If you want to frequent another board, never JetStream, 10 different boards, 1 board...whatever, all the power to you. Have fun and enjoy.
My choice to is to keep JetsOwner.com at the credibilty it always enjoyed, but lately it I have lost control and it was intended to be a RETURN site. Our dream.
Our dream is now reality.
Go where you may, but claiming a sell out? Not giving WFP a chance when it hasn't even launched its final draft yet? I had hoped to be gievn a tad more benefit of the doubt.

Nature abhors a vacuum and just like a Forum was created for Winnipeg Fans to talk about the return of the NHL to WPG, a forum that people will flock to will also arise, eventually. I say let the next forum rise above, the numbers and interesting discussion will determine this, just like people flocked to this one. If there's too much censorship, people will disappear, if people feel that the forums are full of useless posts and rampant attacks they'll go somewhere else.
