hey Darren, what will you be doing with some of the threads we stickied here?....im talking about the WHA/NHL Chronicles thread that Jetstender put so much time in compiling, as well as the Atlanta Thrashers Watch thread.
we need to keep those.

Very disappointed DF. I'm not a fan whatsoever of the Free Press, especially their online boss.

That forum IS brutal. How the hell do you sign up? I have to sign up for some other online thing to be allowed on there? It looks terrible. Very bush league interface.
I hope the guys at ourbombers.com do a Jets forum. It's a well maintained, insightful forum that is easy to use.
I just cant say how disappointed I am that DF and the others abandoned this forum to get in bed with the Free Press. It would be one thing if the new forum was too good to pass up, but it's brutal.

It just makes no sense to me. Why start over from scratch with a terrible "forum". If you want it to be the unofficial official forum, you cant be in bed with one media outlet (especially the free press).
This site has, by far, the most users of any "Jets" forum, so why throw that away to hop in bed with the Freep? With so many start up forums, the benefit to jetsowner was that it was the first and the largest.
It makes no sense to start over. DF could have split the forum off from the main site and renamed the domain to something else if he wanted and keep it going. Hell, even if he wants to abandon the site for whatever the FREEP is giving him, turn it over to someone else to moderate.
As of Aug 5th, I dont know where I'll post. My opinion probably means nothing but a lot of years and a lot of time and a lot of posts were made here. Just because the mods gets a "deal" with the freep, we all lose.

In time people will get used to it, but that doesnt mean it's not brutal. If it wasnt brutal, it wouldnt take time for people to get used to.
This forum is different than other forums (such as ourbombers.com) but they are both very good. The freep forum is terrible. No surprise there.

I mean.... Unknown Poster has a point. The membership here will unbdoubtedly be fractioned off with "forum loyalties" going multiple directions. Certainly not for me to say where DF should have taken this forum, so all the power to him. But you can't dispute UP's point.
Me? I signed up at the WFP forum... but can't say with certainy I'll be a regular.

hopefully its just growing pains over there, but it is very bush league right now.
i was excited about the new site, but now that i have seen it, this place should have been transformed instead.
its also very sad to see that this place has been abandoned by DF and Alex.
a lot of years here flushed down the toilet.
