Id love to go, unfortunately I just have not found the right price to get there. I might have some avenues for cheap airfare available. What's your budget? m.

Well I made the mistake of telling the wife I could do it all for $400 when I first looked because the prices where really cheap for flight then. She hesitated but said ok. Then when I went to book the flights the price went up to over $400 just for the flights.
Basically before I could get return flight for just over $200, the $100 for game ticket, and under $100 for a room. Sadly the price is now closer to $600 and I just dont see her letting me do that.
My biggest issue right now is getting there saturday and coming home sunday. My job doesn't give me much leeway in that regard.

Well I made the mistake of telling the wife... The rest of your post wasn't necessary.

Hmm... $200 doesn't cut it for flights. I can make it work for $300 though.
Email me at coyotesroadtrip@mts.net if you're interested.

I have a question for the "seasoned Phoenix Travellers" out there:
I can get a good deal on a flight leaving Phoenix at 6:10am Sunday morning. If I don't rent a car, is transportation going to be an issue that early in the morning?
Follow up: If I taxi from Glendale to the Phoenix airport, how much am I looking at?

Get sedan service or pre book a cab. I think it was 50.00 from sky harbor for a cab, my flight was 15 hours late and I had to take a cab instead of a pre booked sedan service to Glendale. The sedan is the best option as it cost the same and will show up. Super shuttle has sedans. Pre book and search for Internet promo codes and it will lessen the cash hit.

I heard that there are actually $99 flights from WPG to PHX. God bless Westjet! I'm thinking about catching a Nucks/Jets 1.0 game in Phoenix next season. Great way to catch a cheap vacay and it's cheaper than driving a lousy 4 hours to Vancouver.

how much would it be per Pearson? Depends on the Pearson. Lester Pearson, being deceased, would likely be charged more once you factor in the cost of exhumation, hearse, and the red tape involved with bringing a corpse across the border. However, the symbolism of bringing a corpse to a Coyotes game is not lost on us. Put a Coyotes jersey (with x's on the coyote eyes) on him and it could be seen as poignant by some. Get some guy in a Nordiques jersey to wander around the body with a book clearly titled "Resurrection by Relocation" and you'd have some sweet performance art. Now, as for what should be budgeted for this trip: Ticket to the suite: $105.00 Hotel at $75 per night: 150.00 Airfare: 450.00 Total: $705.00 Throw in meals and transportation for another $150 or so I'd estimate. Transportation cost can be kept low if you get a hotel close to the arena and use the shuttle services from the airport. Meals cost can be kept down by eating a plain hamburger and small fries at McDonald's for breakfast, lunch, and supper. I have access to lower-priced airfare ($300 per person, both ways, all taxes in, from Winnipeg) but that will expire at the end of the month so if anyone can book and pay up before August 1 (Ticket plus airfare = $405) they can save a few bucks there. That would be a Friday departure and Sunday return. m.

Maybe that price is per person based on double occupancy? I can't find anything that cheap near the arena. I'm not in Winnipeg, but the airfare is about the same for me, which is not too bad. If someone has more time, I recommend driving to your nearest US airport and catching a plain to Phoenix there, you could easily save $200. Especially if you book via www.allegiantair.comLet me know about the cheap hotels.

Especially if you book via www.allegiantair.comLet me know about the cheap hotels. I was using a 'per person' rate based on double occupancy, but on Expedia the Ramada Peoria/Glendale Conference Center is going for $64 per night (total). It's 6.69 KM from jobing.com so budget a few bucks for cab, unless you have a rental car. Of course, if you have a car, you have to pay for parking, which I've heard is worth $25 per car. There's a small chance that the organization that claimed that parking would be $25 per car may be lying about that though. I'm not seeing any deals on Allegiant air. Departure from Grand Forks is Thursday only, which would require another night at the hotel, and costs $520.97 Flying out of Fargo requires a Monday return (Friday departure is OK) so there's another night's stay at the hotel. That price is better though, at only $395.97. The $300 fare I have access to from Winnipeg is better though, and doesn't require a drive to either Fargo or Grand Forks. The only catch is that it's gone soon. m.

I want to keep this thread near the front, but instead of just putting "BUMP" over and over, I'll share a laugh or two.
Like the time when my buddy got so drunk after Chipman announced the team name. He got so drunk he blew chunks right in his living room.
Unfortunately, Chunks is his dog.

I've decided on the Holiday Inn Express. Seems like the closest hotel at a half decent price. Basically, the cheapest hotel that won't involve me needing to take a cab to and from the game.
Anyone else agree?
Deuce, can we get an update?

Anyone else agree? Deuce, can we get an update? Yep! I went ahead and booked the suite so we're good to go. I'll need to start collecting $$$ asap though, so let me know if you want to mail a cheque, do Paypal, or meet with cash to close the deal. As far as hotel goes, I'll know in a few days if I'll have access to a house down there. If that falls through, I'll be taking a more serious look at hotel options. If anyone is interested in that $300 return airfare deal I have going, I'll need to know ASAP. It's gone as of August 1. m.

BTW, anyone have any more leads on accommodations? The house rental didn't work out.
Also, still a few spots left. Come on down and watch history!

for hotels try www.betterbidding.com its just a forum for hotwire and priceline users to know what hotels your booking and how low you can bid on them... I've used it a few times.. stayed in fairfield in grand forks for $35 and Sheraton in Minneapolis for $38...
