I have a much better idea, tell them you are coming down with 50 investors and you want to take a good look at the team. Your a group that is highly motivated to purchase a NHL team and keep it in Glendale. Tell them the group from Ice Edge push you in there direction and Ice Edge said that the Glendale organization would be more then happy to comp you a suit for a game so you could get a better look at your next possible investment. bet you get your foot in the door. ;D Best idea yet. Bring a suit and state your love for hockey, and you're in! It has to work ..... It's brain dead simple!

The only possible problem is would have to leave on the Thursday, not the Friday or Saturday morning, so that could mean an extra day off work. Plus I guess you have to park at the airport there, but I think that is cheap?

Well, the sticky is off so I'll bump this thread. We're up to 15 people so I'll be firing off and email to get the payment process started. I've never received Paypal payments, only sent them, so can someone give me some pointers? I'm sure there's fees and such, and perhaps some 'undocumented' issues. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! m.

I've sent, & received funds thru Paypal. I'm sure the sender would also need a PP account to have the funds taken out of. Can't recall if there's a fee. I didn't think so. You could also have funds sent thru a bank transfer.

Hey all!
OK, we have 19 'I'm in' votes but only 7 Jetsowner-sourced attendees (12 with various and sundry buddies, more if Darcy Olsen and Carrie-Ann Sitren join us).
I'm wanting to book the suite and will soon be resorting to posting on HFBoards. And nobody wants that. ;D
$105 per head (gotta cover the paypal and jobing.com booking fees) gets you the luxury suite for what will certainly be the only time in history the old Jets play the new Jets in the desert. Come on down!

Question for those going on the trip:
What would be a good hotel to stay at to make it easy to get to the game and the airport?

Question for those going on the trip: What would be a good hotel to stay at to make it easy to get to the game and the airport? It depends on whether or not you have an issue with staying in Glendale. If you're OK with supporting the Glendale economy there's a tonne of hotels around the arena. Outside Glendale, you'd have to look at some Expedia-esque maps. Peoria looks promising. The Ramada Peoria/Glendale Conference Center in Peoria looks promising - and the rates are dirt cheap. $67 for two queen beds? It's more expensive to stay home! m.

Question for those going on the trip: What would be a good hotel to stay at to make it easy to get to the game and the airport?Stay at the Quarter at Westgate condos. It is right beside jobing.com. My buddy and I shared the costs and 7 people stayed there. You will save a tonne on cab rides and car rental. Take super shuttle from the airport to the condo. This can be pre-booked both ways. It can fit 7 or 8 with luggage and split costs accordingly. You can walk to all the afternoon festivities before the game at margaritaville etc.. and go to the Saddle Ranch after the game. The mechanical bull is awesome and they usually crank it up a notch or two for some female patrons. Here are some links. There are lots of condos for rent at the quarters so just look around. I stayed at a hotel the first time but it was awesome when I could party with all the Flames and Oilers fans before and after the game and stumble home at the end of the night. This time it will be partying with Jets fans! www.westgateazcondos.com/community/www.vacationhomerentals.com/vacation-rentals/Glendale-Arizona-vacation-rental-condo-proID-33510.htmlwww.srrestaurants.com/homewww.supershuttle.com/en/PHXAirportShuttlePhoenix.html

Ugh... the thought of supporting Scruggs' business plan of the Westgate development just make me sick.
For shame Winnipegers!

Those condos can fit 7 or 8? I'm counting three beds, are we talking Playboy Mansion 'sleeping' accommodations?

Those condos can fit 7 or 8? I'm counting three beds, are we talking Playboy Mansion 'sleeping' accommodations? m. If you look around the web, the corner condos or "penthouse" condos sleep more people as they have an extra bedroom. We had the largest condo and travelled with our wives and three children. I beleive the person we rented off of was foreclosed as I recently saw it for sale. When the Quarters initially went on the market they were $500000, they then dipped to $300000 and are currently selling for around $125000 - $150000 They are very nice condos and a close walk to the game. I found them more affordable than hotel stays but depending on your group a hotel may work better. This is the hotel beside the arena. www.renaissanceglendale.com/I have stayed at the Hilton as it is central to Glendale and the airport but found it a better bang for the buck to rent the condo and avoid cab fare all the time. www.squawpeakhilton.com/This house has party written all over it! you can find lots of these in Glendale as the economy is absolutely shot. www.vrbo.com/174876#ratesmain website www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/arizona/phoenix-area/glendale

Any update from our group? Growing painfully slowly. I've got 7 paid up with another 12 or so who said they'll pay up but haven't. To help sweeten the deal, I might have to drop some hints about something a True North VP unofficially 'mentioned' about the Coyotes pre-1996 history and that first Jets game in Glendale. m.
