Hey all.
I accidentally dropped my laptop, and it seems I've damaged the power jack. Would anyone know a good place to find someone to repair it?
I would figure you would need a soldering gun to do it yourself, and I am certainly not the best at that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've dealt with Bowman Micro-Software Ltd in Selkirk, Mb a few times. Ph.482-3402.
His reasonable and quite quick. Older gentleman, very knowledgable and won't try to sell you something you don't need and will direct you to your best options.

Thanks man. I will try to call, but I rarely go to Selkirk. Does he come into the city at all?
PS...Never buy a TOSHIBA. This is the worst computer I have owned in my life!

I am on a Toshiba netbook right now, easily the best cpu i've ever owned. No issues what so ever. Its 18 months old running like new. So who really knows. I would say never go near an ACER, the no name of CPU's.

Strange. Everyone I have ever talked to that owns an ACER is fairly satisfied with their computer.

I think every pc has issues and its just luck of the draw, everyone told me also to stay away from Acer and dont use Norton.Had it for 3 years and never a prob even with all the porn this thing has gone through-lol,but everyone else has had a prob with one of their pc's that's not an acer every 6 months and they also dont use Norton,go figure! All my issues have to do with MTS.

I have an Acer and it was a real bargain. It runs great, no real problems over the last year. A lot of people don't like the bloatware that comes with Acers, but lot of computer brands come with it now. Took a couple hours to deal with.
Most brands are OK. Occasionally a lousy computer comes out from a quality company. I've had a Mac in the past that was a total lemon, and they are one of the highest quality rated companies around.

Their HD TV PVR is vastly superior to Shaw, plus they are a Manitoba company, and also a major sponsor of the Jets

Oh and back to the original, I use a place on Dakota, next to or very close to River City Sports , across from St. Vital Mall, I think it's called Computer Avenue. Always had great service from them

Oh the prices are better at MTS, but Shaw has superior bandwidth. I loved the service I got with MTS, but when it comes to internet, Shaw is far better. Every tech-head I know agrees with me, so there must be something to it.

I can't get out of my Rogers cell contract for a couple of months!
