This guy could have been one of the ALL time goal scoring leaders...... www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8445611His back problems cut his playing days short, but look at how consistent he was at scoring not only 50 goals per season, but 60....

You are correct, sir. Mike Bossy = all time Goals per game leader. beat out Mario Lemieux by less than one percentage point (although Lemieux was clearly the better player).

Yeah...its funny how Bossy seems to ALWAYS get left out of the "who is the best ever" discussions........He clearly deserves to be mentions every time.

Loved Mike Bossy as a very young kid watching the game. My uncle was a big Isles fan so he turned me onto that team.... and it meshed well with my natural Oilers hate Just an understated sniper. Have his rookie card tucked away somewhere.

I agree. That Islanders dynasty was one of the great dynasties in hockey history. And Vivian, how could you forget Butch Goring? ? One of the all-time great late season acquisitions, who won the Conn Smythe for playoff MVP one of those years - what a player! (My son plays out of Glenwood Community Centre here in the Peg, where they honour Winnipeg's own Butch Goring!). But that first line of Bossy, Trottier and Gillies was such a perfect trio - they each contributed superbly in their own way. What a great example of teamwork in a hockey line! Great team!!!! PS - it was really great chatting with you, Vivian, at the party at 4-Play!
