It'd be amazing if True North could work a deal with Oilers to snag the first overall pick and grab Nugent-Hopkins. Not sure what we'd have to offer along with the 7th overall pick. But what a way to make a major splash. Either that, or sign Richards!

I knew the Richards signing suggestion would garner some heat!

They're not moving up, they don't have the expendable assests for moving up in the draft.

Kane alone may get the #1 pick. But there is no way you trade Kane. He's ready to break out for a 30+ goal season. Get him in a hockey environment, he'd thrive. Hope the same goes for Bogo. He can be a stud. Let's hope a change of scenery and new coaches gets him back on track.

I'd like to trake up a few spots and maybe get Couturier or Landeskog. Throw additional later round picks or prospects (we have a few good d prospects) to move up to 4 or 5.
RNH would be a good pick, but that's who you pick to play with Kane.

How about this trade to move up??? To Florida: - RFA Zach Bogosian - Nik Antropov - draft pick - #7 overall (Likely Strome or Couturier) To Winnipeg: - un-signed Eric Gudbranson - Quinton Howden - draft pick - #3 overall (likely Landeskog or Huberdeau) - and a 2nd round pick (they have 2) Florida gets two roster players and good young center prospect, and we get 2 good prospects, and 2 picks (one top 3). They might not be able to sign Gudbranson and get a good d prospect in return. They are desparate for forwards and we need prospects too. Hell, i'd include Hainsey - just to make the deal happen.

I'd never want to see Kane moved for a higher pick! I'd consider the deal Bob E proposed.

I would do that deal Bob E, but I really don't think Florida would.

I would do that deal Bob E, but I really don't think Florida would. Ya, i know. Likely wouldn't want Antropov or wouldn't want to throw Howden into the deal without something else. I just think that Florida may be a trading partner for someone with a young dman, if they can't sign Gudbranson. Bogo fits that bill.

But would they want to trade within their division?

But would they want to trade within their division? Hard to say. Within division for only 1 year. If teams still believe Bogosian, at 20, is a great prospect - then they might. I'm not sure when Bogosian's stock is at its highest to consider moving him. If you keep him, you risk him continuing to digress and ultimately being a draft bust. If you look to trade him right now, he's not performing at a high level so the potential return may not be that high - though he still has a ton of potential. That's why Florida and Gudbranson MAY be an option. If it looks like they might not sign him, then getting a solid american prospect (former #3 overall too) would be an easy sell to fan base, team, etc. But if Gudbranson signs, consider that option gone. Gudbranson, who is more a shut down dman with less offense upside than Bogo, would be a great addition. Bogo might be a better fit in Florida too - big american dman who would be looked at as their future #1. Gudbranson would settle in to our #3 hole (or higher depending on how he develops) and play 22+ minutes.

They need to sign some proven players... Richards would be nice.

I honestly believe there are a lot of good players around 7th. I really hope they grab Strome, or another offensively gifted player.

I doubt they will trade up. I am looking for Little to have a big year. he scored 30+ a couple years ago.

I don't see our team trying to move up. The top 10 picks are all solid and none them stand out like a Crosby.

Let's not trade away any good young talent. Kane is already looking really good. Antropov I could trade (but only if it made sense to move up or get extra picks in the draft), but not any of our good young players that we already have.

We don't need to trade up. picks 3-8 are very close anyway.
My prediction is that we will end up with Strome, however I would love for Couturier to fall. Anyway, we will get something good at #7.
