I'm not sold on Seattle as an NHL market but it you'd think it has potential. Would be great to have another Northwest team and maybe we could shift to a more central division (I'm assuming that after this year we will move back into a division with Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.)

Portland only supports a winner as has been proven with the Winterhawks. Paul Allen who owns the rose garden as well as the trailblazers does not like hockey and more than likely would not allow it in his rink.
Seattle is a pipe-dream at this point, the Key Arena is a dump. During their last renovation when there were whispers that the canucks could move there(when john mccaw owned them), the key arena/seattle center owner did whatever he could to ensure the rink could only support basketball. I've been there while the Thunderbirds were still playing in that rink and it was horrible for watching hockey.

It is now a rat race for Quebec and Seattle to build their arenas. In all honesty, once Winnipeg moves and it's successful, other cities will follow suit methinks. We could see Seattle, Quebec and Hamilton in the NHL within the next 10-15 years. So true! I couldn't say all this any better...

I think many fans in Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit and St. Louis would love to have you in their division - yup would like a division with these five one day...

Would rather see the Sonics return to Seattle. Despite the success in OKC, that had to be one of the most disgusting relocations in sports history. Agreed 110%

I still think Winnipeg to Pheonix is the worst followed by Hartford to Carolina Sonics were in Seattle for 41 years (1967-2008) and won an NBA title in 1979. Although both the Jets and Whalers were tragic loses they never won titles, and were not in their towns nearly as long. Also unlike Winnipeg and Hartford, Seattle had people willing to buy the team from Clay Bennett to keep the Sonics in Seattle, but his intention of buying the Sonics was to move them from day 1. Not the case in Winnipeg and Hartford.

Not the case in Winnipeg and Hartford. I think the Sonics moving out of Seattle is one of the sleaziest moves in quite some time. I think the Jets move was still the most hurtful, as they were the only "big 4" pro league team in the city. As such, the team was a huge part of Winnipeg's identity. Whereas Seattle has the Mariners and Seahawks as well. The Sonics don't define Seattle the same way the Jets defined Winnipeg. But for sure you can argue that the Jets had to leave one way or another, whereas the Sonics should still be in Seattle.

My Seattle NBC feed, during game 7, was showing a local show. They didn't have the game on. ?

It was, and that's why Bettman isn't really doing Stern a favor here. This isn't like Winnipeg, which had its problems after the lockout and was willing to do anything to fix them and get the NHL back. Seattle is well aware it did nothing wrong and was absolutely screwed over, so the longer Seattle goes without the Sonics, the more likely Seattle is to tell the NBA to drop dead if they try to come back. That doubles if the NHL gets in there.

I'm pretty sure there were people willing to buy the Jets and keep them in Winnipeg, but Bettman wouldn't allow them to because he claimed that they needed to have a net worth of at least 600 million.

The Brooklyn Dodgers moving to Los Angeles would definitely be high on the list of the most disgusting moves in pro sports ever as well.

There is a great video on YouTube regarding the relocation of the Sonics. I like watching OKC but Clay Bennett is a disgusting person. If Seattle gets a team back, they become my team in the west instantly.
Long live Detlef Schrempf.
