There is no way on this planet where you could convince the Devils to trade us Zajac for Antropov. Plus, I would rather have Hainsey than White.

White is in a tough spot. He's not likely a top 4 guy on a winning team, but could play a bigger role on a weaker team. He might be better off in Florida or Phoenix and play a bigger role. I'm not sure he'd be in our Top 5.

The one trade I would like to see Heisinger make is Andropov for Zajac. It would drastically improve our second line. Also sign a vet like Ethan Moreau or Aaron Asham to muck it up. Would like to see Ian White become a top 4 d-man for the Jets, that's a deal to pursue. Maybe trade Hainsey. Acquire Dustin Boyd for Angelo Esposito. Not sure about Pavelec as a number one either, he's no Bob Essensa. Interested to see who our first draft pick will be, who will don the renaissance jersey? Boyd's gone to Russia with Dawes

Esposito is living proof that Waddell was an idiot. The year he was ranked #1 for the draft, he played with Alex Radulov, then he left, fell to #20, then the franchise got hosed on the Hossa trade. (Hossa + Dupuis for Armstrong + Esposito + draft picks) He's horrible in the AHL, let alone the NHL.

There is no way on this planet where you could convince the Devils to trade us Zajac for Antropov. Plus, I would rather have Hainsey than White. I think the fact that Kovalchuk is the main attraction in New Jersey, and had an off year, would lead the GM to try to find players who can work with him. Andropov had a very good season playing alongside Kovalchuk, and would be a good fit in Jersey. I think the fact that Elias can play and often does play centre, might make Zajac expendable. Maybe throw in Pavelec for a draft pick in return. Though I believe Cory Schneider will end up in Philly, how cool would it be to have him start for the Jets. If not Schneider, maybe Tuka Rask or Nittymaki? Dustin Tokarski? I expect Craig Heisinger to be busy. His first order of business is to draft well, I haven't seen any of the draft prospects play much, so I won't comment on them. I wouldn't expect any player drafted this year to contribute, although the possibility always emerges. Next will be to sign Ladd, Wheeler, and Bogosian, followed by others. The first two will be easy, Bogosian we'll see, hopefully he will want to play here. I really hope Kris King joins the front office too, he would give us alot of credibility, and his heart is here. I would give Craig Ramsay one year, hopefully Scott Arniel is available next year ;D The primary concern should be Goals against, followed by penalty killing, two weaknesses of the Thrashers. I would try to acquire Sammy Pahlsson from the Jackets. He could provide the Jets with a checking line centre, who excels in the circle (a very important asset for a team that is going to be at times fatigued by the travel), a solid PK guy, and a player who could help emerging Swede Carl Klingberg in his transition as an NHL 3rd liner. With the Jackets financial situation, he might be available as a salary dump. Ian White to me is a better investment than Ron Hainsey. One Hainsey has a very limited offensive upside. Two, on a team that was terrible on the PK, Hainsey had a secondary role. I'm sorry, but for a player earning $4 million + per year, you expect him to contribute and produce in major game situations. Hainsey does not offer that. I believe that Ian White will only have profitted from the experience of playing behind Dan Boyle. He can really help the powerplay, and is a capable penalty killer, he played shutdown minutes with Reghyr in Calgary. He plays bigger than his frame, and can give 20 solid minutes to any team. I'll take him on the Jets, thank you. I'd trade Hainsey to a team that needs to add salary to their cap floor (Isles, Florida, Carolina). Enstrom-Bfuglien M. Stuart-Bogosian Oduya-I. White (a crapshoot for the #7 d-man, maybe Zubarev) Ladd-Zajac-Wheeler Kane-Burmistrov-Little Klingberg-Pahlsson-Upshall (?) Moreau or Asham-Cormier/Slater-Thorburn
