Something does not make sense. TNSE is apparently in negotiations to buy the Thrashers. So I don't understand how they can say terms of the deal are subject to us selling X number of season tickets. What they agree on a price and then walk away because they only had 9000 season ticket commitments.
Not likely but strange! Maybe Bettman has the condition in the deal but it should be satisfied before buying the team not after.
Thoughts!

garuntee you the only one demanding a ticket drive be done is Bettman. It will have to happen as soon as the deal is finalized, and they will assume the team is coming to Winnipeg unless the ticket drive completely bombs (which there is no chance of) in which case he'd keep the team in Atlanta and make Levenson pony up another 30 mil in losses.
It's a formality that Gary has put in place because he believes Winnipeg and most of Canada is a baron wasteland.

The only one who has reported on a season ticket drive was lawless and he said it was the bog that wanted it. Not bettman.

I actually think that any ticket drive is for TNSE only... It creates demand and urgency otherwise Winnipegger's will wait till the last minute which would not be good for anyone...
In the first week you will get a small discount then after that price goes up... This is the urgency which creates demand.

could be a conditional approval from the BOG based on tickets sold...if we get that far it's a done deal...

They won't start a ticket drive until after negotiations start. ...that's too strong of a signal for relocation.
