With a 5-1 win today, Kenny S and his Winnipeg Jets have earned the Net League Hockey Sim's Western Conference Championship.
They will now face another ROTJ member, gushockey26 (I couldn't pull it out in Game 6, losing my 3rd home game of the series and the 6th one-goal game of the series), and his Quebec Nordiques for the NLHS Cup! Throwback city, this series (Nords-Jets) could happen soon though!
Quebec, led by Gus, beat Halifax in a five game series (3-0, 4-1, 5-2, 1-2 (2OT), and 4-1) and my Moncton Mariners in a six-gamer (5-4, 3-4, 3-2, 2-1 (2OT), 2-3 (OT), and 3-2) to get to the finals.
Meanwhile, Kenny and his Jets beat the Nashville Huskies in six (3-2, 0-3, 1-4, 3-2 (OT), 5-4 (OT), and 3-2) and came from down 3-1 to Balboa past the Kitchener Herbalists in a seven-game thriller (0-2, 1-3, 4-3, 3-4 (OT), 6-2, 4-1, 5-1) to advance.
Congratulations and good luck to both!
For the record, Gus is also in the farm finals with his Beauport Harfangs, who will face the Watertown Shipwrecks in the final.

Indeed....I might not have beaten the Nords, but they were all close games. Nice job in that comeback vs the Herbalists!

I'm torn....root for the Nords so that I can at least say I lost to the champs, or pull for the Jets because the Nords beat me....

A very defencive game 1 is decided by a Ryan Smyth goal late in the second period, as Kenny S and the Jets take a 1-0 series lead with a 2-1 win in Quebec.

Gus and Quebec have evened up the series with a 4-1 win, meaning Game 5 will be on Wednesday. Four different Nordiques score, and Cam Ward stops 18 of 19.

Gus's Nords steal Game 3 in Winnipeg, 2-1 in OT, on a goal by Nathan Horton. Ilya Bryzgalov makes 24 saves in a losing effort.
By the way, for those interested, there's an opening now, for the President's Trophy champion Toronto Maroons (moving from Chatham)

Gus is one win away from the NLHS Cup with a 2-1 win in Game 4. However, Ken and the Jets have been here before - in the last round, they were down 3-1 and came back to win.

That's debatable. The Jets trailed in both of their previous series and won both. If you don't win, you can blame it on me for all those one-goal games ;D

Shades of the last Game 5 the Nords played are shown, as Dany Heatley gets both Winnipeg goals - including the OT winner - in a 2-1 victory. Game 6 is Friday. In a losing effort, Cam Ward stops 20.
