I personally would love to see it happen the same day so as to give people the most amount of time to familiarize with the name/logo; but if the name will in fact be different than Jets (Man, I really hope not if it's Phoenix we're getting back), then they may not want to announce it the same day so as to not create a bittersweet for some die-hard Jets fans who would be glad about the return, but sad about the name at the same time.
If I remember correctly, Colorado hadn't announced its' team name until after the draft when they moved from Quebec, so there is a precedent set that it could come even later than that. With the draft being just 8hrs. south of us, I'd luv to be able to invade the arena knowing which name our team will be already, but if not, oh well.
What are your thoughts/hopes on the issue?

I think TNSE would be wise to space the various announcements out to keep the excitement going throughout the entire offseason. It is a long ways until the puck drops (in fact, the current season isn't even over yet), so they'll need something to keep the buzz going. Lots of things can be enveiled, includig the name, logo, jerseys, etc.
(Of course, depending on the name announcement, it could end up being buzz kill rather than generating excitement.)
NHL might also prefer that the focus stays on this playoffs, with bigger announcements in the offseason.

NO WORRIES, team name will remain JETS, celebrating our long run fighting to get (the jets back)

I really hope you're right about the name... anything other than Jets would be a huge letdown.
