I cant help but feel that the NHL has a deal in place with TNSE to buy the Thrashers but can't commit to it until the PHX mess is cleaned up... are we approaching this thing wrong?
Seems to me like we should want the bonds to close and PHX to get the green light to stay in AZ... so the Thrashers to Winnipeg announcement can be made.
Just my .02

Fortunately what we hope has no impact on how this all plays out.

^ No. 1st choice for me is our old franchise, although I'd be happy with any franchise. I'd also like to see QC get a team asap. Anyway, whatever we 'hope' for won't impact what happens or the NHL's plans.

Just my .02 I think most would support the bonds being sold and many have said just that. The problem with that is it's illegal and GWI has stood up to Glendale city council. It's immoral what COG is doing and it's now caught the attention of national mainstream media. If this goes through I would be shocked!

The NHL is more than a fan driven based organization now, they need/want the government handouts to feed the bottom line. The biggest trouble is that they see what the other three big sports do and they want the same but were not the same by a long shot. Hockey is grassroots and were the roots.

Support of them selling the bonds is only supporting getting things moving such as a GWI lawsuit & either the NHL backing out or allowing TNSE to proceed with Atlanta.

Just my .02 No you want the bonds to fail for a number of reasons. First, you need as many NHL teams to be financially in trouble in order for the percentage to go up that you actually get a team. Second, it would be to your benefit if more teams were in trouble at the same time that way it would distract the NHL and divide their time and efforts as to which franchise to save if a choice must be made in the end. Finally, don't you want Quebec to get a franchise too? What about them? What about what's best for Canada which is getting more teams in traditional places and sticking it to the NHL and their Southern failture as a bonus? Don't think just about Winnipeg but also about correcting wrongs, making Bettman look bad, and the greater good for Canada and ultimately the league.

I'm almost completely sure that you guys will have a team next year, and I think it will be Phoenix. The silence from the NHL and the COJ and Hulsizer is deafening. If there was any good news on the bonds, they would be shouting it from their rooftops. There is none.
I doubt the Thrashers will be saved either. If by some miracle the Coyotes get saved then the only thing I can see happening is that you guys run out of time on a team next year, in that case I think TNSE would still buy the Thrashers, they would just have to spend one last lame duck season in Atlanta I'm guessing.
