1. He's going to be Bettman's lapdog after repeatedly saving him and handing him this team
2. He seems crooked. Being from Chicago I don't trust him. Someone posted a thread about some banks he and his wife ran or something and if true, he really is crooked. I can't find the thread.
3. He leaves a bad taste in the mouth of hockey traditionalists and Canadians for the way he entered the league. Terry Pegula didnt have any controversy but MH had chance after chance after chance and did everything just to get into the millionaire's club.
The only good thing is once and if he's in, Phoenix won't be able to (legally) afford to pay most of their top talent as Fatty Matty is only worth $300M with half of that going toward the purchase. A few traitors like Doan, Belanger, and Bryz might re-sign but Yandle, Stempaniak, and others he won't be able to afford.
For that, I can't wait. Imagine the attendance when this team sucks? How's he going to justify that? My guess is he'll sell rather quickly. maybe in 3-5 years tops.

This should be moved elsewhere. It doesn't belong in this area of the forum.

A few traitors like Doan, Belanger, and Bryz might re-sign but Yandle, Stempaniak, and others he won't be able to afford. Why do you think Belanger and Bryz are traitors? They never played here, so why would they have loyalty to or care either way about Winnipeg? Nothing is for certain or even completed yet, so lets just relax and see what happens. The bonds haven't even sold yet. We're still several steps away from Hulsizer even owning the team let alone speculating what kind of owner he is going to be.

This forum needs another moderator or two.
As Hendrix said, he and the others (Darren and Viv) can't be here all the time.

That was me, with about 5 minutes of internet digging this is what I found. Matt and his Wife worked for Swiss Bank Corporation and specialized in derivatives trading. He made all his money in shady deals. www.flicks.co.nz/trailer/capitalism-a-love-story/1549/Do you honestly expect this guy to spend his life savings and then go bankrupt? "Hulsizer, who has a net worth of nearly $300 million, according to ESPN.com knows what he is getting into, but just to review: Various reports have put the Coyotes losses at $25 to $30 million each season since moving to the Valley from Winnipeg in 1996. Forbes Magazine had the team's value last among NHL teams in 2009. They estimated the team was $2 million below the $140 million the NHL paid for the Coyotes at auction. The Coyotes have a Dec. 31, 2010 deadline imposed by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to find a buyer to keep the team in Arizona or sell, reportedly to True North Sports and Entertainment, Ltd., and move the Coyotes back to Winnipeg." www.glendalestar.com/news/headlin....1cc4c002e0.htmlSo lets say Matty buys the team for 175 Million 300-175 = 125 Million The team at this point in time is losing between 25-45 million per year. So from 2.5-5 years he will be completely broke. His wife is Jennifer Just, who probably controls 50% of that 300 million. They both worked for Swiss Bank Corporation (A criminal Bank which took an active role in trading stolen gold, securities and other assets during World War II). Jenny Specialized in selling equity derivatives, which should also be illegal. Matty also worked for O'Connor & Associates, a proprietary derivatives trading firm. These people are not to be trusted. They specialize in derivatives trading which is basically gambling with other peoples money. I guess that's why they are gambling with the CoG's money and fleecing them by getting CoG to front the cash to buy the team.

Perhaps Hulsizer's experience with shifty business procedures is what the NHL is banking on for the Coyotes profitability to turn around. They've tried honest ownership to no success, now it's time to try a grimy suit from Chicago.

Belanger (who is French obviously) said that Quebec is viable has more entertainment and is a better option than Winnipeg who he dismisses. returnofthejets.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ROTJ&thread=12463&page=3#202718Bryz won't play in a cold weather climate and is expected to leave if the team moves (he is a UFA by the way). Also added to the list of players I want traded are Auccoin and Derek Morris two more players who support staying in Glendale over Winnipeg. Coyotes players hoping team stays in Phoenix www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Coyotes+players+hoping+team+stays+Phoenix/4419988/story.htmlAuccoin=Shane Doan defense of family first. Weather 2nd.

If it caused one person to learn something new then it was worth it. Nice picture by the way of Napoleon! Also, I didn't mean to start my own thread, I just didn't see any place to comment specifically on what I didn't like about MH and was going to do the same about Doan who needs his own thread.

Thanks, people think Chicago businessman and assume he might be crooked. I saw that he also worked for a swiss bank, which crooks use to hide their stolen money and avoid taxes. Also the fact that he is involved in derivatives trading, which basically is a stock formula to get away with murder.
I hope all this bad PR helps deep 6 Peak 6 Investments.
Gary knew this guy was shady, who else would try and screw a poor incompetent city so badly.

Could MH have been planted in the situation by the NHL all along to draw it out and pressure the COG?

Could MH have been planted in the situation by the NHL all along to draw it out and pressure the COG? If so, it lends credence to the theory of the poster above stating that Buttman and MH can be "fast friends"!
