I just wanted to start a new thread about what opinions where on what the NHL exit strategy might be. I'm pretty sure the bonds are now a moot point, so what now?
Phoenix is like the fall of Saigon. The NHL needs to get on the last chopper out without getting shot at. How do you think they will proceed? When the lawsuits fly they need to make sure they have done everything to steer clear of any shotgun litigation.
Also what do they now do with Atlanta?
If it where me I would ask Hulsizer to walk away. Simply say to him we are no longer selling to you, and in exchange for future consideration you need to hold a press conference. Simple, Matt walks away and everyone throws up their hands and blames GWI. Bison transport moves in with trucks.
How would you do it?

They have no exit strategy. Mark my words, they will get this deal done some way, somehow. I only hope they get it done soon enough to leave Atlanta as an option for this season.

This deal is like a cockroach.

No matter who holds the press conference, whether it be GB or MH, the end game is of course to play the blame game which will result in a laser pointed directly between the eyes of GWI. If MH holds the conference then that would be an indication that he still shows interest in being an owner or partial owner of an NHL team in that it would be a payoff as it were to GB in exchange for future considerations. Then again, I don't really think his pockets are deep enough. So if that's the case, then it may well end up being GB standing at the podium giving GWI the tongue lashing and if weren't for them the good people of Glendale would have had the opportunity of enjoying NHL hockey for decades to come. But not now, now that they over stepped their bounds and crushed the dreams for everyone in Phoenix. and what about the kids...... blah blah blah

Isn't Bettman drumming up investors for the bond issue as we speak? He's got the contacts, the wherewithal...oh, and he just got his contract renewed by the NHL BoG, so he's motivated. As an aside, I would love to see the GWI name Bettman as a co-respondent in their lawsuit/injunction against Glendale, for being a party to transgressing the Arizona constitution. That's strictly in my dreams though--Bettman being the lawyer he is, he's likely distanced himself from the 'solicitation' of illegal fundraising.
Possible scenario - the bonds are sold, but GWI slaps the injunction from that point forward. Deal is frozen by a sympathetic judge, MH finds a loophole and weasels out. Money discreetly returned to investors, minus court costs. Bettman still points a finger at the GWI, though.
